Mansion recently renovated with a lot of taste, nice breakfast (buffet) , friendly staff, nice pool, safe parking, wifi working well, walking distance to the Sassi, very quiet. I recommend if you plan to visit Matera.

whoever decided that a metal staircase was a good idea in a hotel must be mad. If the first person up in the morning was on the top floor then all you can hear is clonk clonk clonk as they come downstairs to breakfast.
In a good position to walk into town, comfortable (albeit small) rooms, adequate breakfast and the pool is ideal for relaxing around after walking around the old town all day. Staff very friendly and happy to tell you about the history of the hotel and Matera itself.

We are touring Italy in our 1967 Morgan sports car.
After many days on the road, our priorities are secure parking, breakfast and good bath facilities.
We were not disappointed!
In addition to the above we indulged in the pool after a long dusty days.
The staff is very helpful, the shower water and pressure the best yet, and the breakfast was ample.
The gated parking set our mind at ease, and we walked everywhere.
A very special place!

We stayed here for two nights expecting a standard for the price. We paid the extra to upgrade the room, total of €338.00. The building is a nice old refurbished type and the location is fairly handy. The problem is that there is absolutely no noise insulation combined with a lot of reflective surfaces. You can hear other rooms toilets flushing, clearly hear others' conversations and any movement is clearly audible. When house keeping starts, which it did early on both mornings the sound of furniture being moved is really loud. The wifi is really unreliable. Only one pillow per person and for the money the room was small. I raise the sleep matter at checkout and was met with indifference. If sleep is a requirement, go elsewhere!

Dear Guest,
we are sorry that you couldn't sleep, but we don't think that is due to the house keeping service, that starts at 9.30 am after all the guests have had their breakfast, that is from 7.30 till 9.30, that to make sure everybody is already up, in any case even if somebody is still spleeping the hoover start to work at 11.00, for sure not in early morning.
About the wifi, we did not have any problem, and you could have alert the reception about this problem that is no indifferent to the needs of the guests.
Kind Regards

The hotel is a great place to stay while visiting Matera. It is not located in the center of town but in a quiet, residential area a short distance (walking) from the major sights. The staff is helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is also pet friendly. Loved our stay there. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Patio rooms are most convenient.
