Stayed here 4 nights while attending a meeting at the congress center. Compared with other Melia hotels at which I have stayed, this was a significant disappointment. The Melia plaza is billed as a 4 start hotel. The room furnishings were very basic. The amenities did not even include a box of Kleenex, instead you found a little packet with several tissues in the bathroom vanity basket. Breakfast featured very runny and cold eggs, very fatty bacon, and rolls shaped like tiny croissants but no actual croissants. The biggest disappointment was the desk staff - a feature that is usually strong at Melia's. They were unhelpful on multiple occasions, did not appear to be knowledgable about local transportation options (their answer to most things was take a cab but there were easy bus routes). I had urged my junior colleague to also stay at this hotel during the conference and had the embarrassment of her appraisal of this as a 1 star hotel. Another colleague who stayed at a 2 star hotel not far from us behind the correos had better service from a more attentive desk.

Stayed here in Oct17 for 3 days, we had a standard room with a partial view of the square, view didn't really matter because to me it's not the type of hotel where you would spend a lot of time in the room.

Everything was clean, the staff were nice and friendly and it's in a very good spot to get about to different parts of the city, you are a 10-15 min walk to most places and only a 10 min cab ride to the beach which is also worth a visit.

would stay here again if we go back.

We have on many occasions driven to Valencia and passed this hotel but this time we booked a Room for a few nights. Superb location within walking distance to the well know Market ( mercado ) and the fashionable shopping district as well as all the restaurants to savour the Valencian cuisine. Javier at reception was extremely helpful at pointing us in the right direction as far as local restaurants were concerned and the dining staff for morning breakfast gave excellent service. Put this one on your list! We will be back.

The hotel is perfectly located just on the promenade and close to good tapas restaurants and bars. I had the perfect room overlooking the beach, the castle and part of the city centre. Staff are so helpful and so kind. This is not a huge hotel with hundreds of rooms. It’s a tall building but with the minimum of rooms on each level. I certainly enjoyed staying at and highly recommend it

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the wonderful Melia Plaza. Couldn’t fault anything. Booked a delux room and this is what we got. We asked for a balcony prior to our arrival and this is what we were allocated. There are only 2 balcony rooms at the hotel and we had one of them. A short wait while the room was made ready.and was well worth it, as the room was large and spacious, lots of wardrobe space, and a fully stocked mini bar/fridge, a kettle and a variety of tea/coffee was waiting for us. We didn’t have any milk but a quick call to reception and a large amount of milk arrived. Ideal as we had a fridge. Each day the tea/coffee was replaced. The rooms were cleaned everyday and sheets changed too. The view from the room was amazing.clean sheets every day. . We over looked the square and spent time watching the colour changing fountains. Although on a busy road there was no noise during the night.
The hotel is brilliant, location couldn’t be better. Ideal for wherever you want to go.
The mercat central market was absolutely brilliant, and only a few minutes walk away. We were on room only and went here twice and got breakfast. Too much to see in one visit especially if you are a “foodie” The cathedral and square were only minutes walk away too and there are so many places to eat and drink and watch the street entertainment (some were better than others) !!! The hop on hop off open top bus was well worth the money..... we used this when went to the oceanographic. We had a quick stop off at the beach area on return and weren’t disappointed.
There was too much to do in such a short time and without a doubt we will return to Valencia and definitely stay at The Plaza.
