I stayed at the Westin Palace a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful hotel with a great location. Unfortunately, the room was not clean when I checked in. The carpet had not been vacuumed and the toilet articles were used and practically empty. I complained and no one came to vacuum. The toilet articles were eventually replaced, but the carpet remained dirty, since I had dropped a vitamin on the floor and found it a couple of days later. The staff is not very friendly and the doorman does not open the door. Very unfortunate for an otherwise nice venue.

Dear Sandy,
Thank you for your review and for choosing us to stay during your visit to Madrid.
First of all, I apologize as we didn't meet your expectations with the cleanliness of the room and the service provided by our staff.
I have shared your feedback with the Executive Housekeeper and Head Concierge for further analysis and action with their team.
Hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back and serve you better,

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Westin Palace. We were on a Tauck Tour and that's where we spent the last four nights of our trip. The hotel is an historic landmark dating back to 1912. The public spaces are beyond elegant including the lobby and the breakfast area with a magnificent stained glass dome ceiling. The breakfast buffet was among my favorites on our tour, with made to order omelettes, a variety of fresh fruit, smoked salmon mini quiches, all kinds of pastries, and many other things to choose from. The location was great, walking distance to the Prado as well as many great restaurants. Our room would have been perfect had it not been for the awful view. We had an inner view which wasn't very nice and actually looked kind of depressing. The room itself was a decent size, had a very comfortable bed, and a nice bathroom with a double vanity, and separate area for the toilet and bidet. We'd definitely stay here again, but would ask for a room on the other side of the hallway and perhaps a higher floor.

We're starting to lose count how many times we've stayed at this hotel. This was our second stay in 2018 and this time we had a nice newly renovated room on the 6th floor facing Calle Jeronimo for 2 nights.

The room was very quiet and pleasant and we slept well on the "heavenly bed".

To get around not having tea and coffee making facilities in the room (sadly a Spanish standard), the Westin offers a complimentary hot drink from room service each day (per guest). We made use of this on all 3 days of our stay, our teas and coffees were always delivered quickly and were always very hot on arrival.

We enjoyed our SPG welcome drinks in the bar and the usual quality buffet breakfast in their beautiful dining area.

The location of the hotel is very central, close to the museums, shopping, tapas bars, cafes.

Everyone at the hotel is always friendly and helpful.

I am sure we'll return.

Beautiful and historic hotel - loved the palatial dining area for breakfast warmth it's sparkling painted ceiling. The bar was also super fun and old elegance - perfect for watching Real Madrid beat Liverpool in the championship game. Service was also very good. Only drawbacks - small rooms, small elevator and beware the pickpockets outside the hotel. My friend had her wallet lifted from her purse on the first day within a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Location, however, is excellent for Prado museum, park, and other attractions.
