The Royal Palace of Madrid is one of the best Palaces to visit in Europe. It also has a fantastic armory which is beautifully presented. This is a must see in Madrid.

There are stunning views inside and outside of the Palace. It's wheelchair friendly so easy to get around. All of the rooms are beautiful, the architecture and decor are amazing.

We were really excited to see the Royal Palace, until we were discriminated against - I can only imagine because we were Americans. We brought in a tiny backpack and had even checked with guards in the front about whether we could bring it in- all said yes. But this man very rudely insisted we walk all the way back to the entrance (not the more conveniently located baggage storage which we found later). What’s so upsetting is that while he was being rude to us, so many people with HUGE backpacks just walked on by.

I am pregnant and needed access to belongings in the small backpack, but this man wouldn’t hear it. So unfair to go through the Palace and see so many people allowed in with huge backpacks. Be consistent with this rule or do not have it all. Furthermore, talk to your employees about being consistent with these rules and not being rude to non-Spaniards.

Great place to spend a few hours while in Madrid. I recommend the audio tour to help give description of all of the items within the many rooms of the Palace. I also recommend a week day visit rather than weekend to avoid the crowd. Biggest recommendation - buy tickets in advance or thru your hotel, etc. The line at the Palace can be a mile long..........

Thank Tommy W

Lavish beyond our dreams, a breakfast room, a discussion room, a porcelain room - too beautiful for words. The ushers running around making sure no one took photos were a little irritating, especially as there was no signage to say you couldn't.
