Owner description: Though this walk is not fit for the out of shape, the Mediterranean Steps promise wondrous views to reward hikers who complete the climb.

A steep climb, but worth it. We did it in the pouring rain! Which I think distracted us from some of the pain. Only do this walk if you are fit, if you are a bit wobbly on your feet keep to the main roads up the hill as this will still give you a good workout.

The hike up the mediterranian steps was by far the best part of our 2018 trip to Costa del Sol and Gibraltar. We started quite early in the day, about 9 in the morning, and since it was in March and on an overcast day, it was not overly hot. We had packed generous amounts of water, and also some fruits, breadsticks and the likes to have as snacks along the way. We are both reasonably fit (if not in any way athletic) and have no physical impairments, which I have to say are prerequisites since the walk is a bit challenging at times. That said, as we were not in a hurry and took breaks as needed, I was almost disappointed the walk/climb didn't last longer, as I was prepared for a longer, more arduous hike than this actually was. Thats not to say it wasn't worth it! The views where spectacular throughout, the WW2 remnants curious, caves, flora and fauna fascinating and we got to see a few kestrels and even spotted Gibraltar's national bird, the barbary partridge!

It’s quite the trek, but totally worth it! The views were incredible. I’d say this is more for an adventurous person. Take some water though!

These are good to challenge your fitness and see the scenic side of Gibraltar. Not for the unfit or people with medical conditions

What a great way to visit the top, almost a private ascent, its not that hard really if your fit, there is no water/stops at all so bear that on mind. Took us about 90 mins from the Jewish Gate to the top gun battery and that was a steady pace. Stunning views, highly recommended. We parked at Europa point (free all day) caught no2 bus for <£5 for a day hopper for two, i forget the stop but just 5 mins towards town. Entry is £1 or 1 euro i believe pp.
