Hostal de los Reyes Catolicos located on Plaza del Obradoiro is formerly a hospital cum medial school. Currently it has been converted into a 5-star hotel to serve visitors from all over the world. We have a lunch here as arranged by the cruise ship. The hotel proper is great with large variety of room types. The lunch hall is large as well with customer oriented services. A nice experience here. Don't forget that free wash room facilities are provided inside the hotel.

I already reviewed the wonderful hotel. But the interior is seemingly unvisited as we saw it several times with no other people there. Be sure to visit each small square within. You don't have to be a guest to visit.

This hotel back in the very old days was a hospital. The corridors are long and winding. The rooms are small, but nicely appointed and comfortable.

One couldn't ask for a better location as it is quite easy to walk to see the sites, shopping, tapas bars.

Ask to take a tour of the hotel. Try the restaurant in the cellar and carry a camera.

As soon as we drove up to this Parador, we were blown away. Mouth fell open. The location is just awe-inspiring. It is a busy place, yet the staff is so professional that they keep things moving and organized every step of the way during check-in. The rooms are beautiful, and surprisingly quiet and secluded considering all the people there. The courtyards are peaceful and lovely places to stroll or sit. The breakfast buffet was the best of any of the paradors we stayed at, and we also had an excellent dinner there, as well. The staff was amazing every step of the way. The location is an absolute knock-out! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Santiago de Compostela, period. I will be back! Staying at the Paradores, and enjoying their history, is part of the travel and sightseeing experience of going to Spain for us. This property has the most excellent location, parking, fantastic service, great rooms and baths, and a wonderful breakfast. You step out of the hotel, and are immediately swept up by all the activity in the plaza, the music, the incredible cathedral, museums ... everything! There isn't a bad view in the entire city, yet the best ones are definitely here. Many photos taken! Highly recommend!

Lots of green courtyards with amazing outlooks onto the old buildings. The restaurant in the cellar is spectacular as well. There is history everywhere you look.
