If you are travelling from Spain/Gibraltar to Morocco this is worth a stop for visting this fort. One can take a ferry from Algeciras to Ceuta. The firt is amazing and you can canoe in the canals as well. Please be aware of the long waiting times to cross the border to Morocco and the migrants rush/problem in the border (hence the extra checks and long wait times).

Visited here with my four children whilst stopping at the port on a cruise. It was a fairly interesting fortress with information displayed on boards and we wandered around for a while. Decent views from the top. Worth a quick visit if you are in the area.

This is the most interesting site to visit. There is quite a wealth of information in the shape of boards. A good lesson in history of development of fortifications, weapons and tactics.

I was there with my family yesterday. As other reviewers suggested we went just before sunset so we can see it through light and after they turn on the lights. The place is well maintained but there isn't much to see. We ve been to many historic places and this was the least interesting. Honestly i wasn't impressed by the place.

We visited the place by night .. its very nicely lighted.. and the best suggestion- take a kayak and do the tour in the canal.. water is clear, you can see fishes as well and it's a nice start for an autumn morning
