Tucked away in a quiet street, but within easy distance of everything you want to visit in Tarragona, Pigal is a great place to stay. We don't normally drive into cities when we are abroad, but we didn't have a choice this time. We actually found the hotel first time around, despite a few one way streets. There's space to pull up outside to off load but you cannot park there. You are directed to an underground carpark just around the corner, which , as I think others have said, is tight to say the least! The owner did offer to park the car for us, and perhaps we should have taken up the offer. You drive down in to the bowels of Tarragona, each floor seeming to get narrower and narrower...
But what about the accommodation? We had a double en suite overlooking the street and couldn't fault it. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Xavi was very helpful, as was the young Russian student who looked after reception in the evening.
We didn't have breakfast in, or make use of the facilities but the fact that you can make your own food if you want is a great idea.
If we go back to Tarragona, we hope Pigal is still there...

We stayed in Hotel Pigal for a few days and everything was perfect!
Especially the service was great, because our car broke and Xavier, the owner of the hotel, helped us a lot and translated everything we needed to the mechanican. It was an outstanding service!
Also the hotelrooms are very clean and cosy and the location of the hotel is perfect to explore the City!
All in all it was a great stay and I highly recommend Hotel Pigal for your holidays in Tarragona!

Fantastic hotel in a fabulous quiet location, the owner Xavi is a local with genuine affection for his home town and a great depth of knowledge, stayed in many hotels for work and pleasure but don’t recall ever being in a hotel and being made more to feel like a home from home. A genuine delight to stay in an often overlooked but beautiful city

Shower head is fixed, hard to clean yourself with. Owner very competent and task oriented, could be a bit slower, more relaxed and a little more love would be welcome.
Great location, for example very easy walk to railway station, even the slower train to Barcelona is very regular, takes just over 1 hour, and good value. Train tracks the sea, lovely views, make sure you're ready to grab seat. People on reception very helpful with anything you're interested in. Have a car, the park is a bit expensive, but very close by and worth bringing your car – this is not really a tourist town, but there are wonderful places if you head into the mountains. Great WiFi. Clean room, comfortable bed, we didn't have a good view.

The friendliness of the manager, and the great location, make this a great budget hotel in Tarragona.

The room was small, the beds hard and the shower head mostly blocked, but everything was clean. Breakfast was missable.

There is a public underground car park less than a block away, (tricky in an estate car) at 15 euros per day, apply to the hotel manager rather than pay the timed rate.
