The perfect place two stay in Barcelona! A short walk to all the main attractions with restaurants, shops, bars close by. The apartments are on the 3rd floor of the building with access by stairs and lift. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was just right for the four of us. Mari & Petz were perfect hosts and we were invited for breakfast in their rooftop garden! Looking forward to visiting Barcelona again.
Every now and then we unearth a real gem on our travels. Yok is hard to put a label on. Part hotel, part apartment, it is the perfect base for a very rewarding stay in central Barcelona. Completely hidden within the imposing façade of a c1900 Catalan modernist corner block the 3 self-contained casas were created during an extensive recent renovation. Original features were maintained and complemented by a wonderful collection of vintage, re-purposed and hand-crafted fixtures and furnishings. We felt truly at home here.
Owner-operators Mari and Petz are serious about sustainability, design, hospitality and the true Barcelona. Our morning chats with Mari over a typical Catalan breakfast on the rooftop terrace were a highlight. A passionate Barcelonina she generously shared her insights making for a very rewarding few days in the Catalan capital. Mari’s recommendations were really appreciated – from where to buy a good loaf of sourdough, eating out and Bar Pinotxo - what an amazing experience.
A beautifully designed, very comfortable and cozy apartment. Excellently located in El Born within a short walking distance from the lively alleys of the old city and Gotica.
Mari and Pat are charming hosts who were very friendly and helpful in recommending what to see and where to dine. The enjoyable long chats enabled us to better understand the local culture.
Altogether a wonderful place that contributed much to the pleasant holiday.
Staying at Yok Casa was a great inspiration. We loved it. Including, our afternoon rituals of re-filling our water bottles and chatting with Mari & Petz at Yok HQ upstairs.
The flat is at the centre of things with easy access to the best of Barcelona.
Daily trips to Santa Caterina market. Shopping at El Born. Coffee at Nomad Coffee & Satans in Hotel Casa Bonay. Not to mention the Gothic Quarter and the very nearby Parc de la Ciutadella. Sagrada Familia was also just a short 20 mins walk.
In a nutshell, book this apartment. It will not disappoint.
We spent a short family holiday in Barcelona between 19.-23.6.2016 and decided from the beginning to go for sth personal; apartment rather than hotel. Again this time googling paid of, my wife found Yök Casa + Cultura apartments. On our dates only Casa B was available, but reading few of the review, comments....and seeing the pics from the apartment /Casa B/...it was easy decision. Even we preferred have one more bedroom travelling as a family of four, we went for it. It was a good decision; location is brilliant, short walk both to Marina, Beach and all the central sights in the city. And yet, street is quiet enough, so no difficulty with traffic.
Apartment as such is brilliant, beautifully furnished, following the ideas of the owners /Mari & Petz/. Beds are comfortable, floors and everything clean and neat. Balconies are from living room anmaster bedroom to the street, and on top of the building there is roof terrace where Mari and Petz offered the breakfast with a stunning view over the city. Can't be much better than that. As the was no cloak room by the aprtments M&P advised about handy locker service next door where we stocked our luggages; thus without worries between check out, and late flight. Can warmly recommend Casa B for anyone who wants to visit Barcelona, stay downtown, and avoid typical hotels.
