We've rented around 10 apartments in Europe over the past few years and this was by far one of the best experiences we've had! Ester did an excellent job communicating before hand with all the details. Our flight was delayed an hour and a half and she was there to welcome us. The fridge was stocked with deli meat, cheese, snacks, and drinks. She even had a bag of gummies for my kids! The apartment is beautiful and was perfectly clean. It had everything we could have needed. The dishwasher and dryer made for even a more relaxing holiday. The little balcony with partial views of Sagrada Familia was also a treat. We stayed with our four children and we had plenty of room. The location is a block from an excellent park, the metro, supermarkets, restaurants, and several bus stops to take you anywhere in the city you would like to go. Ester, thanks so much for providing such an excellent apartment!
Perfect quiet location for our holiday. But near to transport and walking distance to the main shopping streets. Ester very helpful. Lovely apartment with all the amenities we required. Will be visiting again!
We met our daughter and her husband after a Mediterranean cruise. Seven adult family members for a week the week of Christmas. We are ready to go back ... now! Ester met us and went over the basics including how to run the appluances and what she had graciously put in the refrigerator to get the week started. We had a couple in each of the three bedrooms and our son on the pullout couch (which was comfortable). Two bathrooms were enough for our group.
The view from the fourth floor balcony of the Sangrada Familia put smiles on our faces. The market across the street supplied some basics for several meals. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance. Ester kindly provided numerous references by request before we went so we new what was available close by. The Metro entry is a short walk which we used to explore other parts of the city.
The Sangrada Familia is a must see. We also walked down La Ramba, went to the market off La Ramba (great for cheep fruit smoothies and free samples), went to the Picaso and Miro museums, took a train to Montserrat, walked by Olympic stadium and hrough the surronding gardens up to the castle overlooking tge Mediterranean. Bring walking shoes. The hop on hop off tour bus lines are a great way to get the layout of the city before setting off on your own.
I personally made it a point to visit many cafes to sample local coffee and pastries which are relatively inexpensive.
The washer and dryer are small for what we are used too but after 11 days on a cruise we really appreciated them. Hint: Don't forget to empty the condenser receptacle in the dryer as there is no vent for the dryer. TV is almost completely in Spanish so we used a tablet to watch netflix via the wifi. We blew the fuze multiple times using the hairdryer and water heater at the same time. The fuze box is at the front door and was easy to reset.
We used an app Hailo to book an early taxis to the airport at a reasonable rate.
Overall the apartment was a great base for our family vacation and Ester was extremely helpful.
My family of 6 adults stayed here for 5 nights in November 2016. The location of this apartment is perfect for the Sagrada Familia, but a decent walk from the Gothic Quarter, beach etc. That said, there is a metro station very close by but we did choose to walk everywhere because the city is so beautiful. From here, for example, it is a 2.5 km direct walk to Park Guell but it will take 30 minutes+ because it is uphill all the way.
The apartment is spacious and well provisioned; the kitchen has helpful items such as foil and clingwrap so that leftover food can be kept fresh. There are plentiful local shops to buy anything you want so we shopped on a daily basis. The most important services for us were the wifi, washer and dryer - all worked perfectly. We didn't use the TV which only has local, Spanish channels.
Whilst this apartment does indeed have two bathrooms do note that the en-suite to the main bedroom is more like a shower 'cupboard'. It was not a problem for us but larger people might struggle with the lack of space available. Even with 6 showers in a row there was no shortage of hot water.
The apartment block is on a main road however there is no traffic noise because of excellent double-glazing. BUT there was a lot of noise from neighbours every-night which kept us awake: very loud conversations + chairs being pushed back and forth on a tiled floor until gone midnight. If you like to sleep before midnight then this apartment is not recommended.
We really enjoyed Ester and her apartment! The apartment is roomy, comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay. The location is great with restaurants, bakeries and stores close by to meet all of your needs. Transportation is also close by! If we go back to Barcelona we know where we will stay! :) Thanks Ester! :)
