Central location with many food options. Meeting location for hop on hop off buses. You can stroll Las Ramblas or make your way up to Exaimple from here

The Plaza de Cataluna is a nice shopping centre. Plenty to see and do if you're into shopping. Nice eatimg area up the top with awesome views.

This is more like a centerpoint, or square in the heart of the buzzling city, offering some calmness and tranquility from the heavy and noisy automobile and human traffic around.

The square has lots of greenery and flowers in decoration, a huge fountains and several statues. There were seats around and one could rest from a shopping spree to relax. Most interesting was that, in the center, there was always a swarm of pigeons flying all over and especially when someone threw some food on the ground, they would flock in from all over the places and be careful not to be "bang" by them. Interesting.

From here, you can apparently move in various directions leading to Las Ramblas, the main entertainment, shopping and dinning areas of the city center. And there were so much to see, do and dine in too!

There were also several "illegal" unlicensed vendors operating their businesses here, selling souvenirs, T-shirts, bags etc but they would "vanish" all in a sudden when they sense the presence of the police! (and afterwhich they will return shortly when the police left, also quite interesting)

Just like any other big cities in the world, do exercise caution when you are here, especially due to the high human traffic and take good care of your personal belongings in risk of pickpockets.

When anything happens in Barcelona it starts or usually ends in Plaza de Cataluna. It is a park with statues, fountains, and lots of people feeding pigeons. It is a good place to stop and get your bearings while exploring Barcelona. It is the start or end of los Ramblas, depending on whether you are going to, or coming from, the new port.

Loud and busy , it is the hub of the city where many bus s. Start their routes. All points seem to converge here and it is usually crowded, noisy and distracting most if the time. Good spot to meet people at but make sure you specify where you meet as it is a large area. Several large stores are here as are banks and restaurants
