Owner description: Fortress of the Kings of Castile and Royal School of Artillery Its picture has been around the world: a unique fairy tale-like palace that brings together architectural tastes of different monarchs. It tells -to all those who come to know it- ancient palatial stories. Austere, as they were the Castilian kings, raised on the rock at the confluence of the valleys of the rivers Eresma and Clamores, the Alcazar seems to watch over the city. Its beautiful Tower keep, often compared to the bow of a boat sailing between the two rivers, is of a stunning beauty. Tourists are amazed to realize that the fortress is a living part of this Castilian city, chosen as a place of residence for many of the monarchs of the Trastamara dynasty.

This castle is well worth a visit. There is much to see inside the castle and it also offers impressive views of the surrounding areas.

The Alcazar in Segovia is a beautiful castle. My first impression was...It looks like Cinderella's castle at Disney World. I wasn't far off the beam. It believed by many that Walt Disney used the Alcazar and Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany as inspirations for his iconic Cinderella's Castle. The castle is extremely well preserved with fascinating stained glass windows and furnishings. Where else can you see horses trampling the king's enemies under foot in a beautiful stained glass window? Don't miss seeing this amazing castle!

Wow! What a treat. This Alcazar is very well preserved and the artwork and statuary are amazing. Loved the ceilings! If you were to visit only one Alcazar in Spain, this is the one.

When I arrived at the castle, I was more interested in climbing the tower than viewing the castle. Thankfully, the ticket man talked me out of that and very much recommended seeing the castle first and then climbing the tower. I'm glad I heeded his advice. The castle is not very large, and is basically unfurnished, but the decorations are something else. The ceilings are simply splendid. You can easily imagine a royal family living here (as they did not so long ago).

The climb to the top of the tower isn't too bad (152 steps) but its a twisty staircase and you'll hope no one is descending as you are going up. Views are good from the top.

If you're there at the right time of year, watch for the storks' nests in the trees opposite the main castle entrance. I hadn't expected to see storks in Spain but there were plenty of them in Segovia once one started looking.

Just amazed from the outside, the art piece inside of it were astonishing. And the view once you’re on the top of the tower was just amazing.
