Was a little apprehensive given some of the mixed reviews but I wonder did those people eat at the same restaurant!
The food was great. The portion size was perfect including burgers and hot dogs we saw heading to tables of local families around us.
Pan Cristal with Jamon iberica, octopus carpaccio, squid ink risotto, the most exquisite ceviche of “corvina”, stewed beef , water, glass of cava and a great bottle of local Toro red “€15.95
All for €60.60
Quality of every dish was fantastic. The ceviche outstanding. Wine delicious
The menu was translatable with photos etc using an ap the waiter helped us download. Very friendly and efficient staff. Loo spotless.
Door does not open til two on the button so don’t think it’s closed!!
Highly recommend this spot

We tried to walk in for lunch, but they were fully booked. The host graciously offered to find room for our party of 2 that evening. We returned for an excellent dinner in this elegant comfortable space. We ordered seven items from the menu, plus a very nice bottle of wine for 65 Euros. Our favorite dishes were the Black Rice Risotto and the delicate Merluza fish. Also tasty was the Toston confitado (a square of tender pork that needed no knife). The poached egg with mushroom and truffle essence was also a winner and was cooked and served in a masons jar. The mejillones (mussels) were the least interesting of our selections.

Got tipped to this one, not just a chance find. What a pleasure! I was a bit bemused by the use of technology like a gadget with 3 buttons - call a waiter, get the bill, cancel the call and an iPad wine list. But once past these the food is outrageously good and innovative. Try the duck or the ox tail if you are in any doubt.

We had a fabulous dinner here. It is a modern, stylish restaurant that is centrally located. We had a terrific, reasonably priced local wine with some innovative tapas dishes. Service was terrific, as was the beautifully presented food. The only trouble we was that our Spanish is poor and there is not a hint of English translation available, either from wait staff or menu. SO, do go, but take a traveller's dictionary. Their mid-day fixed price menu looks really nice and very reasonable

We've been to Vida y Comida several times, and each time it's a treat. The staff is very courteous and food is always perfect. They opened a second location called Vida y Comida Xperience and it's definitely a great experience! When you enter the restaurant, you're welcomed with an aperitif - always something different and delicious.
We chose the "Xperience" menu from the last page of the menu and it's fantastic. You choose three different small plates each and it comes with dessert, bread, tea or coffee. You can decide to share each plate or eat separately. We had the atun tataki, tempura shrimp with vegetables, anchoa del cantabrico, nems de carrillera (pork), manitas de cerdo, and everything was delicious. On another occasion, I had the duck salad, merluza, risotto, and croquetas. I can't say enough how nice the staff is and how helpful they are with choosing the right things to share or have by yourself.
And, if you choose the "Xperience" menu, you should add the "maridaje" which for only €10, you'll be served 3 different wines with your dishes, and a prepared cocktail after dinner from the super skilled cocktail bar upstairs. We had a glass of Rueda (white wine), then Albariño (also white), and then Riojo.
I highly recommend this restaurant for a couple's night or lunch, but also for a group of friends/family. Although, it's not a place for children.
Vida y Comida Xperience is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Their other restaurant is openly almost daily.
