This is like the central square of Salamanca, that is so huge and big in size and really in the shape of a square (unlike old towns of other cities). The buildings covering the entire area was beautiful and gorgeous that stood over centuries of time!
From the external view, it was like they were joint "continuously" with a gap. For locals or even tourists, this is the "meeting point" and a short walk down the stairs here is actually the dropoff/pickup point for passengers via tour coaches.
Right now, it was very crowded as you could see visitors and locals all over the place. Around the square are shops and cafes and next to them are the walkways and lanes (streets) and will lead you inside to the old town, heading to the Cathedral and other buildings/areas around. Right there, you will be able to find more gift/souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants, pastry and confectioneries etc. (do check out my earlier posts of these places here too)
Highly recommended for a visit to indulge in the nice and wonderful atmosphere!
