After seeing Loro Parque's 25,000 (4.5star overall reviews) and seeing it advertised everywhere in Tenerife we decided to go. We thought it was pretty good and were amazed with how intelligent the animals were. However, I remember one Sea Lion sleeping before music came on at the start of the show. You could see this poor animal really didn't want to move, but it followed it's normal routine.
After putting a video up on social media of the Orcas.. Someone asked me why I funded this and said I was an 'uneducated fool'. Another commented saying they 'shouldn't be in there'.
That's when I thought about the documentary film 'Blackfish'.
Watching this powerful film has made me realise that it's not right to have animals in captivity.. Even if it does provide funding to research them. I'm sure this could be done in other ways. I won't be visiting any Zoos/aquariums/animal parks again. I used to love visiting them but now I see it is truly unfair!
