... this is the place to be. Left, right, above, below ... you understand every single word they say as long as they're not all talking at the same time. If they use the hairdryer it's like somebody starts a vacuum cleaner right next to your ears. Walking, pushing furniture and watching TV keeps you awake. Even in the bathroom you don't feel left alone. The building is impressive, most of the staff was friendly and supportive. Breakfast is very good. Free parking is scarce and paid parking is around EUR 20 per day. The location is central, as stated on their homepage, if central means somewhere in between. However there is a bus stop not far from the hotel and buses are frequent.

Room Tip: Don't know if there are rooms with less noise. Probably depends mainly on the behavior of neighbors.

Dear Mr. Norbert:

Thank you for your insights following your recent visit. We always look for ways to improve and your comments are crucial to our future success.

We do our best to ensure that the noise levels always stay within the sensible limits so our guests are not disturbed by exterior traffic noise. Sometimes it is impossible to guarantee this as there are going to be moments during the early hours for instance where some traffic noise may be heard from the local municipality services, especially on our lowest road facing floors. We are however happy to know that thankfully we had availability and were able to provide you with alternative accommodation.

Thank you once again for making us your choice hotel and for your constructive critics, we certainly look forward to serving you again and to have the opportunity to exceed you expectations in a not too distant future.

Best regards.

Booked a double room, but shown to twin room. The hotel did recitify this and we ended up with a kingsize room. The pillows, if I stayed again I would take my own.The hair dry in the bathroom needs to be replaced with a modern one, felt like I was hovering my hair. Choice at breakfast and was 5 stars, however a small jug of coffee and then having to serve onesself to more coffee not 5 star. Restaurant food excellent, however not enough vegatables or salad with main courses. Some of the staff warm and welcoming. Loved the turn down service when we got it, 4 nights out of the seven we stayed. Not enough local information in the hotel.

Hotel location, nice park area and service is very good.
Hotel gives you a good feeling.

We had a Jr. Suite and this was big and nice. But hotel rooms need some renovation. You can see that its old now.

We are due to stay at this hotel at the end of April. Just wanted to make folk aware, parking is NOT free as stated on the overview above. It is €16 euros per day for residents so that’s another €112 for a weeks stay. It does state on the hotel’s website that there is a charge for parking but nowhere does it stipulate what the charge is. I did contact the hotel to say that it might be a good idea to say what the charge is but I didn’t get a reply, they just said you could park “around” the hotel. Anyone who has been to this area will know that finding a space for street parking is almost impossible.

We fell in love with the Santa Catalina from the moment we saw it set back from the road with beautiful park and statues leading up to a majestic looking entrance. The reception area off of which was the bar and cafe was spotless and most welcoming. We had a superior room with balcony looking out over the gardens and marina.and this was spacious and clean although we could understand why the hotel would be undergoing a major refurbishment in the near future. The breakfast was excellent not only in presentation but also in the variety of hot and cold dishes on offer. It was noted that people with dietary requirements i.e. gluten free were well catered for.

From the very first all the staff were helpful, polite and friendly and always on hand to be of assistance. This included the cafe, room , pool, and front of house staff.

Altogether a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful grand hotel.

Room Tip: top floor superior rooms have good views
