Due to the devastating fire in 2012 a lot of the forest has been burnt down. It is interesting to see how the nature recovers. There are a lot of new vegetation coming up.
In March 2018 there were a lot of trees that had fallen over the walking paths blocking the way. You have to climb over them, but it is passable. We walked from the top to Laguna Grande and back.
The vews from the top is stunning. Walk there on a clear day. Not only do you see all of La Gomera, but also Teneriffe, El Hierro, La Palma and Gran Canaria.

Enjoyed a 5 hour walk in the wild northwest, with stunning views along the coastline before our descent down one of the valleys into Vallehermosa. A really lovely place for a good walk at some altitude, especially in the warm sunshine.

Fabulous forest to enjoy the beauty of nature and listen to the silence. Virtually impossible to not getting overwhelmed by the views, the flora and the peaceful atmosphere.
Some of the trails are quite demanding, so make sure you pick the ones that fit your physical condition and keep in mind it can be very chilly up there, even when you have beach temperatures of 20+ centigrades.

I really liked walking through the laurisilva forests in the national park. It was such a nice experience. Unfortunately we had very bad weather with high winds and rain so we didn't see many views, but what we did see was great.
