The apartment suited our gastro trip to San Sebastián perfectly. Despite not being the largest apartment a lot of thought has gone into its layout to ensure a couple get maximum use out of the space. The terrace was indeed big with a perfect view of the fireworks competition that is on every night during the Grande Semaine. For the foodie everything is within walking distance, from the pintxos bars of the old town to the Bretxa market at the end of the road. Gustavo also helped the whole experience by speaking perfect English and ensuring we got settled in on the first day. Great town great apartment.

“Fantastic location”

This apartment was in the midst of everything in San Sebastian. We had gone to San Seb for the sea, surf and food and we couldn't have been more central to those things if we tried.

The surf beach is a few minutes walk over the bridge, the family beach a few more in the opposite direction. The old town with it's lanes filled with Pintxos bars is across the square and you are surrounded by shops and market stalls selling fresh produce, fish, meats, breads etc. Everything you need to prepare a delicious fresh lunch on the terrace.

The city centre with it's beautiful boutiques and shops is also just a few minutes walk away.

No need for a car here. Donostia is a wonderful city to walk or cycle around with extensive bike paths and beautifully paved, flat footpaths.

Don't be fooled, you can't cover this city off in two nights. We stayed for 13 nights and didn't even make the daytrip to Bilbao. Take your time and live like a Donostian in this great apartment.

“The perfect location in Donostia”

The apartment is in the perfect place, right on the edge of the old town. So not too noisy, but only a few minutes walk from the best pintxos and bars in the city. 1 minute from the Urumea you can be surfing in 5 mins, or strolling for 10 mins through the old town to get to La Concha.

It's a compact apartment but ingeniously designed so you have absolutely everything you need and it feels spacious, far bigger than its actual floor space. We visited as a couple, but had friends and family who are resident visiting us while we were there and never once felt cramped. The terrace is amazing and it's a real treat to have so much private outdoor space in the heart of the city, it gets the sun all day, and the outdoor lighting makes it perfect for late night dining and chatting too.

The kitchen is small but has everything you would need (especially as you're in one of the gastronomic jewels of the Basque country!). It has a dishwasher, hob and microwave - a big fridge freezer, and is well stocked with crockery and utensils. The bathroom too is tiny, but well designed so not cramped, the shower is excellent and the floor drains the water quickly so there aren't puddles or damp. There's wifi, a washing machine, a TV and stereo, a hairdryer, an ironing board - you name it, it's there.

I really can't imagine finding anywhere better to stay and we will definitely book again for future visits. A real hidden gem, highly recommended.

“Perfect spot right in the heart of old town San Sebastian”

We had a wonderful stay at Gustavo's penthouse in San Sebastian. The apartment was spacious for 2 people and very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace, enjoying a bottle of wine, while watching the busy people down below. The beach, the bridge, and dozens of delicious pinxtos restaurants are just a very short walk away. We stayed in the apartment for 5 days and we would've been happier staying longer!

“Central location but in a quiet street”

We had a wonderful few days in Gustavo's apartment, situated right by the river and in the heart of the old town a few minutes' walk from all amenities - market at the top of the street, surfers beach, bars, cafes and restaurants. The apartment is a mini penthouse loft in an original town house. It has been totally renovated, and Gustavo has kept several of the original features, including the massive wooden beams. Every available space has been put to good use, making it a very user-friendly place to stay. The communal areas are kept in wonderfully clean condition and there is a modern lift for those not wanting to use the stairs. The flat itself, immaculately clean and tidy, has a good mix of old and new which makes it so different from the very many other apartments we looked at in San Sebastian which have been totally kitted out by Ikea. This provided a very warm and cosy ambience for our stay and it really felt like a home from home, rather than just another rental apartment. We had a lovely spacious terrace where we had our breakfast each morning, comfy bed with cotton bedding, super powerful shower, cosy dining/sitting room and mini kitchen with all the necessary bits & bobs, including dishwasher. There is both central heating and aircon so this apartment would be ideal for any time of year. Gustavo is a credit to his penthouse flat and he could not have been more helpful and charming.
