First up, we could have stayed in somebody’s shed and we’d have had a great time in this fantastic city.
However the comfort and convenience of the Coliseo would make any first time visitor to Bilbao very happy.
Very centrally located, all the key sites of Bilbao seemed to be within a 20 minute walk maximum.
It’s located in more of a shopping district so it’s not the liveliest area at night but walk 5/10 minutes in a number of directions you’ll find plenty to eat and drink. The Old town is about 10 minutes walk away just over the river and the airport bus stop is 5 minutes walk away. Guggenheim is 20 minutes away and, should you be in a rush, the nearest metro is 2 or 3 minutes away.
The hotel itself ticks all the right boxes without any particular wow factor but the city itself provides plenty of that.
Regardless of where you stay you’ll have a great time in Bilbao but staying at the Coliseo will put everything within walking distance.

Fantastic location. Near all the main attractions in the city and the best restaurants. Comfortable rooms with all the necessary appliances.
The down point goes to the breakfast staff. Kind of rude, unprofessional and mainly with a great lack of sympathy.

When in Bilbao it’s definitely one to add to the list. Close enough to old town, near to Ledesma for bars and restaurants. Nice hotel, big rooms well equipped, happy time in the outside terrace bar, good breakfast and calm, professional and friendly people front of house. All good

My room was perfect. Cleen. Larg. Warm.
The hotel staff was polite, correct and not intrusive. Perfectly performed all functions. Breakfast was hearty and helpful. Food varied and for every taste. Coffee is great. I personally did not have enough grapefruit juice.

We booked 3 nights for 4 old mates on a long weekend months in advance and got a great deal. A very good hotel in a great location. Walking distance to all the main attractions - old town, Guggenheim, footie stadium, music venues, theatres, bars, clubs, restaurants.
The central internal terrace is lovely. It's just a shame they don't use it more. Maybe have a bar service for coffees, snacks, drinks etc that start before 4.30? (you can get drinks between 4.30 and 11). There are countless bars and cafes within 5 minutes walk and a couple of huge shopping centres.
Rooms are big with comfortable beds, a fridge and air con with no traffic noise at all - despite being in the centre
