A black cat takes good fortune in England but bad fortune in Italy and in other countries. I selected this restaurant for the very good reviews in Tripadvisor. The place is absolutely unpretentious with paper towels and the service is with no frills. I choose “cazuela de pulpo, pixin y gambas” ( octopus casserole monkfish and prawns) which was 5 in scale 1 to 10 and my wife “escalopinas al gusto y pimiento” which she considered quite good. We selected a Rioja red (14^) of the Bilbao area : good and offered at a reasonable price.
Overall, the score is medium resulting from my half disappointment and good judgement of my wife.
The price was unexpectedly low: just 50 EU for two, including the good Rioja Bilbao.

thank you for the opinion and if I say two things the napkins are put on paper because they are more hygienic to be used and throw if I put it on fabric before another person would have used and even if it is washed it can have germs that is why we do it that way and tell him also that the wine is from La Rioja what Bilbao is the brand of wine and if the casserole did not like it he would have told us about it and it would have changed without any problem, but as I call it and preferred to put it here, enjoy your trip

Four of us visited and stayed for several hours having family style tapas and several bottles of sidra. I am gluten intolerant and our waiter was especially careful making sure our food was gluten free. The food, sidra and price were great. Very reasonable price for what we had.

We had a fabada and a jamon asado in this nice sidreria in the center of Oviedo. Quite touristic (read: long waiting list), though enjoyable place with a rich menu and fair price. Recommended reservation to avoid queues (but do consider to have a cider in case..).

We ate here three times in two consecutive days. El Gato Negro is a very popular place with locals. The service is fast-paced but friendly. During our three visits (one luch and two dinners we were able to peruse the menu and found some mixed results. The fabada was good and hearty as one would expect but this isn't the most interesting dish. The restaurant is moderately priced and has no pretensions of being anything other than what it is. The scallop dish (zamburinas) was by far the highlight of our visits but the cazuela dishes are unimaginative and lacking. I would recommend this place but care must be taken in ordering.
