Description: Today popularly known as "Bulevar de la Sidra" by the quantity and quality of cider establishments coalesce there is the stage for a cider Tierra Astur Gascona, where every night seems weekend nights. The dynamism of our establishment and sympathy emanating from each and every one of our cider "culetes", escanciados with great care and professionalism by our staff, are good examples. We have an excellent heated terrace and shop Asturian products.

This is a well known cider house / restaurant in the restaurant area of Oviedo. We had loin of pork which was massive. The food was perfectly cooked, but we would have been better having one dish between us, it was so big.
The house wine was quite acceptable, served in a china jug. Service was very good and the atmospheric surroundings made it special. You will not be disappointed.

We had two nights in Oviedo and I had found this restaurant on the web and really fancied going. We went along and there were lots of people there. The restaurant was very busy (always a good sign). We only waited about 5 minutes before we got a table and this was without booking.
You HAVE to drink cider here! The way it is served is amazing! Such fun!
The food was amazing too. There is a large menu with lots of choice.

I had read about Tierra Astur in advance of our trip to Spain, and it was among the places I was most excited to eat at. Unfortunately, I cannot say that the experience matched the hype. Yes, the menu is huge. Yes, the wait was long (but not unreasonably so). Yes, the waiters did very well with the special Asturian cider pour. But when it came down to the food, it was just okay. Not bad, but not great either. Maybe we just choose poorly. We had the mixed Asturian cheese board to begin; the cabrales was wonderful, but the other three or four options were forgettable. We had the guisada, which was very good, but was eclipsed by later versions we had at other restaurants. The service was average for Spain, although the waitress who seated us was very friendly and set our expectations high. Would I recommend it to others? I guess so, but I think it is worth looking into what other food options there are before making a beeline to Tierra Astur like we did.

Great place to try Asturian cheese and other specialties.
Cecina, chorizo, salchichón, seafood, nicely cooked vegetables, they have it all in large portions.

If you want to try typically Asturian food this is the place to go. It is well-decorated with cider bottles hanging from the ceiling and the centre piece of the restaurant is the large wood fired oven, where they cook the meat. We had pastel de cabracho (a sort of fish pâté typical of the region), followed by beef ribs, which were both delicious and more than enough food for the 3 of us. We also had 3 or 4 bottles of cider and the price came to €47 for all of us. Would go back!
