We stayed in this marvelous apartment for only two nights in May 2015. If we could imagine that it could be so great we would stay longer.
Joao’s and Maria’s place is better than perfect! We were so glad that based on wonderful pictures in TripAdvisor (with views from the balcony and rooftop) we decided to book 2-bedroom apartment for two of us.
This apartment has everything what you need: nice rooms, great design, good lights, kitchen utilities, bathroom, great views, - all was perfect.
In each room you can find well written instructions on all details in the apartment.
It was very clean. The only concern that I had (just joking): I tried to be very careful to not spill or to not break anything. I wanted to leave this place after our departure in conditions close to those when we checked in.
Our favorite place was to be on the rooftop, enjoy the views of Granada, Alhambra Hotel, the “local church"' (as Maria said (ha-ha) – actually the church is so beautiful!) and Sierra Nevada and having a meal with wine.
One night I decided to sleep on the rooftop. This was amazing experience! I bet, not everyone had this luxury of sleeping right under bright stars in the heart of Spain!
On our last day when we were checking out Maria and Joao helped us to bring our luggage downstairs and get a taxi to the bus station.
Maria and Joao is attractive, talented, energetic, and very kind young couple. We glad that we met these amazing folks during our journey in Spain.
As it was mentioned in other reviews this apartment is not for people with mobility problems: the stairs are very steep and there is no elevator.
I did not write about Granada. If you never been over there, remember: you must go!
If you want to feel and enjoy Granada then stay in this apartment to have a bird view of this unique city.

This was the perfect rental in Granada. Centrally located, within 5 minutes walk to the city but also with the convieience of a bus located about 3 metres from the front door, Joao and Maria's apartment is warm and sunny, with great inclusions. It is on the 4 th floor of a building without a lift, so it may not be suitable for guests with mobility problems, however this is what gives it such light and sunshine and it has the added bonus of a rooftop garden with brilliant views over the district and the Santo Domingo church next door. A bonus is the washing line up here (as the apartment doesn't have a dryer). Out teenage daughter loved the hammock . 1minute walk up the street brings you to the bus stop which will take you up to the Alhambra, although Maria pointed out to us how to get on to the path which takes you through the town and up to the Alhambra if you decide you need the exercise (and after all the pastries in Spain we certainly did).
The beds were extremely comfortable, the flat was wonderfully clean and everything worked brilliantly. Maria was extremely helpful, assisted us with our bags, information and even called us a taxi on our last day. Gracias Maria.
Just a word to those travelling from Australia to visit the Alhambra. For some reason, ticketmaster in Spain which sells the tickets to the Alhambra does not accept Australian credit/debit cards. I know this has been the subject of other trip advisor forums in the past and the situation is still not rectified.We also tried through the Caixa bank machine when in Spain but encountered similar issues. We took a chance with it being the low season and travelled there without tickets, went up to the Alhambra at 8:30 on the morning of our visit and got our three tickets for the afternoon session easily, but I don't think I would risk this in the peak season.
