If you simply want a secluded, private, chilled and simple stay in the sun then you can't go wrong. The sunbathing garden area is really perfect. Actually looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. The pool is lovely.

The rooms are basic but very clean and traditional Spanish style which is what we wanted. There's a really good coffee machine and nothing is old and worn out. It's all very clean and modern while maintaining a very Mediterranean and basic feel throughout. Again, just what we wanted.

Free wifi too.

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but it did look good. We preferred to go out and explore.

Surrounding the hotel is a supermarket and a few small cafes and restaurants.

To get in to Malaga city (to the port is where we always got the taxi to) it was €12-15. Watch out for taxi drivers who try to take advantage and circle around areas a few times to increase their fare. We pointed out that we had Google maps and he quickly realised he had been caught.

The hotel is a very "left to your own devices" kind of hotel. The staff let you be and don't get involved which is great and if you ever need them they are happy to accommodate.

You could get a taxi torremolinos too which is about €10 but we didn't go. Hotel Picasso is right in the middle of Malaga and torremolinos so you have options.

Airport is 10 minutes from hotel.

Very good place. I would recommend and I would definitely come back.

Also - highly recommend a tapas restaurant Vinaria Cervantes (number 1 on trip advisor). It really is awesome. We had alcohol and top notch clean and fresh tapas. Kept it coming like a conveyor belt and expected a pretty big bill. €40. Couldn't believe it. We would have been happy with double. You have to book days in advance though as we did as people queue outside to get the next available table.

Amazing hotel and amazing customer service. Gardens are beautiful. Only problem is too many mosquitoes so all of us got bitten horrendously and one of my children needed hospital treatment! but would come here again for sure just be more well equipped with repellents and creams.

We stayed here for a night after having arrived late into Malaga airport and not wanting to carry on with the onwards journey until having had a good night's sleep. This was the perfect place to stay; only minutes form the airport but felt like it was a many hundreds of miles away. The check in - at well after mid-night - was quick and friendly; room very clean and comfortable, decorated simply but tastefully with a healthy nod to typical Andalucian style, and above all quiet. Buffet breakfast the next morning was plentiful and we were able to enjoy the garden and pool area before heading onwards. If you want somewhere that is more personal and individual than the typical airport stop-over hotel then this is without question I'd say the place to stay. Recommended without hesitation.

Stayed one night only but will return. Wonderful, warm reception from owner! She helped me with a personal dilemma, going out of her way for me. Thank you! Charming hotel, Quiet. Good location, close enough to Malaga airport and less expensive than those chain airport hotels. Beautiful grounds. Lovely, well appointed room. Clean. Excellent pool and garden. Interesting knickknacks, art and accessories along the theme of Picasso's life.

Room Tip: I had a room facing the front. Perhaps you might want one in the back although there was no noise from the street.

This hotel has it all (apart from a restaurant, but that didn't matter). Speedy taxi from the airport to the hotel, just 10mins, which was great. Checked in quickly by lovely lady on reception. It's small, quiet & gorgeous. Definitely get a suite if you can, as they face the pool area, but if you can't don't worry, its no hardship facing the gardens which are kept immaculate. The pool is lovely, great to dip into in between a glass of cava & sunbathing. Price: a little high if I'm honest. 99 euros a night with no breakfast i think is too much. But I would pay it for the convenience & location.
Local restaurants vary, It depends on your tastes. Breakfast/lunch at Las Ninas a must, great food/service/prices. (just come out the hotel, turn right, then right at the island, next left & its on your right - literally 5mins walk.) Next door to Las Ninas is a great mini super market - get your booze, fresh fruit, bread, beach towels, whatever you need really, & its open til 10pm. Better to get your drinks from here & take them back to the hotel, you'll save loads. (there's a mini fridge in your room;-)
The beach is 5-6 mins walk from Picasso, it's quiet, quite stony in places, beach shoes recommended, but the waters nice, does shelve quickly so be careful. I went from thigh to shoulders in one step! Beach bars serving food/drink/shisha, nice & part of the experience but watch the prices! We paid 119 euros for a lunch for 2!!
I'm going again in 5 weeks & taking my son this time, can't wait, especially as i know my way around now, so will save a bit of money this time!

Room Tip: Suite for pool view
