Sweet! This place is a kick. What a fun way to experience Malaga. I would take all of my friends here for the flaming Pig and Snails. You can then visit the church right across the street!

By way of introduction, we were a party of four adults from the UK visiting Malaga on a four day, family break to celebrate my birthday. We stayed at the Barcelo Malaga Hotel (separate review). Malaga is a lovely city with a compact city centre and easy to walk about. We like to try local food and therefore look for bars, restaurants and cafes frequented by local.
While walking about the centre we came upon the La Recova, a small shop type café which was full and a queue of seven or eight people waiting for a table.
We decided to try it the next morning. On arrival there was a short queue and the waiter managed to get us a table within ten minutes. The place has seating for about 15 people. We ordered a “typical” breakfast consisting of Toast and three types of pork “pate” type spread and two types of jam/ marmalade and Hot Coffee. We enjoyed the breakfast and the ambiance of the café. The background music is provided by an old “dansette” style record player and LP records. All for a few euros. Well worth a visit.

Thanks to Tripadvisor i found this "restaurant" and so glad a trusted the reviews. Gorgeous breakfast, and all the staff were nice. The place was very busy and had a good mix of tourists and locals on the way to work. Breakfast with home made bred and marmelades with coffee less than 2,20 euro.Amazing

As many reviewers have already stated this is a quirky cafe offering a great little breakfast. Comprised of a large slice of toast, homemade spreads, fresh tomato and coffee, this must be one of the best value breakfasts on earth. I'm heading there again now.

Never thought about seeing that place, hidden and small - was a wonderful afternoon with delicious food and wine. Not expensive, but just open as long the shop is!
