“In the heart of the City”
Reviewed 27 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

If you want to experience Malaga City and all it has too offer then the apartment is ideal, in the heart if the City, Cathedral, port, museums, shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants all within minutes of apartment, trains and buses also. It is on Constitution Square on the 3rd floor with a lively area below, sit back and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

We were met by Ignacio's Father Manuel a delightful and humerous gentleman who made us feel very welcome. Many thanks ;)

“Disappointed”

This is right on the main square of Malaga. During the day this is an excellent location for sitting and looking out over the square. A good base in the centre of the old city.
We booked for the end of November when Malaga was preparing for the Christmas celebrations. The nighttime noise from the vehicles coming and going, setting up the square, plus the locals getting home from 4am onwards meant broken sleep.
The flat is small. The kitchen is tired, tiny with a sink and 2 cooking rings; sling the lot and install a microwave or eat out. The bathroom is large but the shower is so small you turn the lever to either hot or cold if you turn around. Well, not hot really. It's gone cold before you can turn around.
The bedroom is fine. Five foot (150cm) double bed-head is married to a 4 foot (120cm) bed so a bit too cosy. Fortunately the living room has a sofa bed. Not the most comfortable but saves arguments. Not so good if there's 2 couples staying. Then again...
A bit of common sense from the owner would have increased our rating, but not by much.
The real killer is the 61 steps up a narrow winding staircase. No lift. Make sure you've got everything before you go out. And don't go with anything bigger than a budget flight case.

Management Response
18 May 2016
The very center of a city in Christmas is not a quiet place. The size of the apartment can be appreciated in the pics, especially the kitchen. The main aim of the apartment is to enjoy it as a place to rest and touristic base. The elevator is going to be fixed this summer, but it is specified in the description that there is no elevator. We use to help with luggage and do not have high rates because of that. We will consider installing a microwave. Taking into account that we rent in the very center of the city with good rates, we consider it an unfair rate.

“Mixed Review”
Reviewed 7 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

This apartment was exactly where we wanted to be, with amazing views over the Plaza through balcony windows of an apartment comfortably styled to fit with the historic centre. The owner and family are charming and helpful. The kichen was as expected but we only intended to use it for light breakfast etc so its size was not a problem and since we were directly above a cafe/bakery then we could breakfast there or take rolls up to the apartment. There are some downsides which if we had been aware of we would not have chosen the apartment. Firstly, it is on the third floor but the steep 61 steps, narrow to 2 foot wide and had 9 turns to negotiate with our cases, shopping etc. The bed is 47" wide which is cosy for some but not leaving room for a restless sleeper. The bed head was loose and only propped against the wall. The square is very noisy but we expected that. The water only heated enough for one shower and we had to wait 20 minutes for it to heat up again. Wi Fi was intermittent. I had recently ruptured my Achilles tendon so the steps were a problem but for someone fit and aware of the downsides I feel the apartments other positive features make it suitable for many.

“The best place in Malaga!”
Reviewed 19 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This apartment was everything we hoped it would be and more. Ignacio was really helpful and his father Miguel was lovely, and so kind. The apartment was overlooking the central square in Malaga and the views from the 3 balconies were stunning. It's fantastic for sitting at the end of the evening with a glass of wine and people watching. The apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone. Many thanks. :)

“A platform above the heart of the city”
Reviewed 16 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Open the street door, right next to the iconic Cafe Central, climb the stairs to the second floor, enter the apartment, fling open the doors of the balcony and there it is - a breathtaking platform above the Plaza de la Constitucion - the beating heart of the magnificent city of Malaga. It's like having an apartment above Trafalgar Square.
From morning to late evening the sights, sounds, colours and dramas unfolded in front of us like a command performance.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and it was perfect . Comfortable, spotlessly clean and with all the facilities we wanted - a stylish living room with modern TV, large bathroom, bedroom and a small kitchen which we used for making tea and chilling the wine. And Its central location meant we could criss- cross the city and its rich choice of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and sights and be able to nip back in a couple of minutes. And always that view...

But there is more...Ignacio the owner was extremely responsive and helpful and speaks perfect English. But we also met his delightful family - parents Manolo and Ana and sister Irena who is studying engineering at the local university. They were always available at the end of the phone and when one of the blinds needed adjusting they came and sorted it out immediately.
And as we are learning the language, it was a real bonus to meet local people other than those in shops and restaurants.

We've stayed in Malaga a number of times before in perfectly pleasant hotels, but staying in this apartment gave us a completely different insight into the city. We will certainly return.
