We'd booked a junior suite for one night, with the intention of extending our stay the day after (as long as the hotel lived up to our five star expectations).

The hotel it self is not that bad looking - it looks pretty good, actually. The room too was not that bad - although maybe not the 65 square meters as described when we booked.

After we'd taken a swim on the roof top terrace we were gonna take a bath, and this is when trouble started. After untapping the bath water suddenly water started pimpling up from the shower drain. This flooded most parts of the bathroom floor and followed by that was the awfully "sweet" smell of sewage.

Cancelled the shower, went down to the reception. Asked if we could change room, but the receptionist insisted on sending a maintentance guy to fix the problem. Waited probably about half an hour before he arrived. He did some plumbing work and fixed the initial problem, but the "sweet" smell of sewage were still present. He said he'd send a cleaning lady to get rid of the smell. I can't believe there is any cleaning lady in the world with such magic powers, but ok - we waited some more.

The cleaning lady came washed the floor, but she didn't have the magical power to get rid of the smell. It was now time for us to go to dinner, still not been able to shower. Went down to the reception to tell that the smell is still present and tell them that we were not very impressed by neither the smell or the way they handled the problem. Now, all of a sudden, they suggested that we may change room. Why did they not accept my request for this in the first place? As we had a table reservation to catch we didn't have time to change rooms. Too little, too late, reception lady... We suggested a refund or a free room the night after. But there was no person in charge at the hotel at the time. We were told to come back talk to the manager next morning.

Next morning we got down to the reception area and spoke with the manager. She could offer us a free breakfast. I thought she was joking for a moment... That was all she could do. We paid for a suite in a five star hotel, but got our afternoon ruined by a room that smelled poop and sewage, and she thought was seriously thought a free breakfast would compensate for this.

It's easy to give great service when everything goes as planned. It's when something fails you really can tell what they're made of. If nothing fails this hotel may be great, but if there are some problems you will pretty much be on your own.

Was a bit worried by some reviews especially as we had booked through a 3rd party (jet 2) and hadn't been offered any particular class of room, however we were delighted, were allocated a lovely cool room on the 1st floor with patio doors opening onto a courtyard area, so could take a chair outside and sit and read. Air con was fine unlike some other reviews, but maybe because the cleaner left card in electricity slot each day so it didn't go off. Rooms and rest of hotel were spotless, staff all helpful and pleasant, bar area was busy with entertainment late on Friday and Saturday nights, ideal for a night cap, didn't eat in Hotel so can't comment. Best of all a great location in the old town, with a 5 min walk to the start of hundreds of bars, restaurant, shops and historical places of interest. Malaga was amazing, spectacularly clean friendly and inexpensive. Would go back to this hotel if I was going back to Malaga.

On arrival the reception staff were first class. We arrived early and although we could not get into our room at this time the staff parked our car and arranged for our luggage to be taken to our room. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very well appointed. This was the quitest hotel that we stayed in during this touring over spain holiday which allowed for perfect sleeps. Only minor issue is poolside area is rather small but I appreciate that you can only work within the limited space available. great location for exploring malaga.

We visited Malaga on a whim to grab some sunshine and this hotel was the only available hotel with an outdoor pool in Malaga city. Taxi to the hotel cost just under €20 from the airport.
The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and clean and the location was great. It took us 20 minutes to walk to the beach with our four year old.
We enjoyed the swimming pool, though it could get a bit crowded at times.
Would recommend the bed and breakfast option as breakfast offered a very good selection with omelettes and pancakes available to order.
