In the 3 nights in Malaga we managed to get in here twice. Waiting staff were fantastic hosts, chefs were first class. All the food and wine was excellent.
Recommend the red tuna, squid and salads with goats cheese(best I’ve ever eaten) Book in early as it’s v small and famously in demand!

The restaurant was full when we arrived so we were initially offered some wine at the table outside. El Gastronauta doesn’t look that special from the outside but it is well worth a visit.
We asked the waiter to recommend a selection of tapas. The service was friendly and helpful and the different selections of food was great. A special mention to the iberico pork which was probably the dish of the evening. The wine was ok and the whole menu was very affordable. We ended up paying 75 Euro for a meal with wine for four people!
I’d recommend going here for anyone that likes a busy but friendly atmosphere and would like to get away from the places that offer tourist menus nearby, this is so much better!

Thank Peterblad

Nice food and friendly service. I did not try the paella but they claim it is the best one in the centre of Malaga. I will have to come back to check. Otherwise I shared a “ensalada oceanica” with fresh grilled prawns and had a couple of tapas. I would recommend their tostanautas especially the “ cabramelizada” with humus on special kind of bread. The place is small but nicely decorated.
A great place not to be missed.

Situated on a street in the walking area of the city, near the streets packed with restaurants, this small bistro offers top quality dishes, in the Spanish tapas tradition, but with a modern twist.
The place is small (and they only reserve by phone!), but the staff is client oriented and do their best to accommodate you.
The food is delicious, among the best I ate in Southern Spain!

Same day that we arrived to Malaga we choose to visit this restaurant. We were lucky to get a table this sunday afternoon and got some realy good advice from the staff how muck tapas we should order since some of the portions were tapas or half portions or even full portions. We had the wonderful guacemole for a starter to share. It was just so good. All the order dishes was just so tasty and good. This place is something you should not miss out on. Best to book in advace, but we got lucky just to pop in that sunday afternoon.
