Apartment was in excellent condition and clean. Location was also excellent, just near to the Mercado Central, lots of opportunities to eat out or purchase food near by, multiple tourist attractions and the beach were easily accessible, plenty of shops and entertainment around too.
Would highly recommend the apartment for 2 people, but it would be cramped with more than that. It is also on the top floor with no lift so not suitable for those who require mobility assistance, but with Cadiz cobbled streets and old buildings it would not be a city in general well suited to wheelchair users.
Key collection was a bit difficult. Took a while to find the agreed "Plaza de las Flores" as on the map it is named Plaza de Topete. When we did arrive no one was there at the agreed time and couldn't reach the owner by phone on the first attempt (I believe down to the relaxed Spanish way of life rather than negligence as the owner was most helpful whenever I did contact him), all the same this was a bit off-putting at midnight in a new place. Tried again after 10 mins however and was able to speak with the owner who promptly sent someone along to take us to the apartment. As soon as we got in everything ran smoothly for the rest of the trip.
Over all very reasonably priced, great location, clean, all necessary amenities there and a friendly owner. Only things that would improve it would be WiFi, better bedding (there was just a top sheet on the mattress, we did find a mattress topper which we used as a base sheet but we weren't really sure if it was clean, but the apartment does have a washer in case) and easier key collection.
All things considered would definitely recommended
If you're looking for a centrally located, comfortable apartment in Cadiz, this is a great choice for one or two people. We stayed there for two weeks. It's located just across the street from the Torre Tavira, a two-minute walk from the central market, and there's a nice restaurant, El Garbanzo Negro, right downstairs. The apartment itself is small, but cozy, with an air conditioning unit that works really well and that cools off the entire apartment. There were people doing renovations to an apartment downstairs during our stay, so it was a little noisy sometimes, but overall, the noise level was good. The only cons are that the apartment is on the third floor, so definitely not for people who can't handle stairs, and there's no internet (at least not at the time of our visit). The manager, Ramon, is very attentive and easy to reach, via email or telephone. Key pickup was a little odd (had to get the key from a local flower shop that was closed when it was supposed to be open, but a call to Ramon resolved the issue fairly quickly and the flower shop owner finally came by to give me the keys).
