We stayed on the way to our holiday in Denmark. I was impressed that our comments were read ( requesting connecting rooms and anti-allergy bedding). Rooms were clean and well prepared (including the extra bed as requested and an additional towel for our son in the room). Breakfast was very good, a nice selection with fresh fruit and lots of choice. We were very happy to have paid around £120 for two rooms and breakfast for 5.

A large (12+) group of us gathered in Bochum, Germany for a weekend of training and socialising. Our choice of this hotel was primarily based on it being only 10 minutes walk from our venue but it proved to be an excellent choice.

The rooms were all modern and well maintained. Bed was comfortable and big enough (at 6' 2" / 188cm it's always important!).

On the face of it, this is just a "standard, mid range hotel". However, I felt it was worth a review as it exceeded our expectations.

Staff were friendly and very helpful across the weekend, ably dealing with our group including people from 7 different countries.

Breakfast was varied and typically "continental" with a mixture of hot and cold options.

We made extensive use of the bar and garden area (the latter nothing special to look at but definitely a pleasure to be able to sit outside on a series of very warm days).

All in all it definitely outperforms it's approx £60 a night cost for a double room with breakfast (we stayed in early May).

Friendly staff and very helpful. (Although occasionally disappeared and left bar and reception unattended). Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was far better than some other European hotels I've stayed in. Would happily stay here again.

The hotel is globally ok for business trip except limited free wifi connection (you need to pay for more hours and data).
My main issue is the conditions of the hotel (or booking platform) egarding booking and cancellation fees.

Dear B8775OUbrunoc,

thank you for choosing our hotel and taking the time to share your experience.
If you book the room online, you will also see the conditions immediately.
And if you book a non refundable rate, it is your choice you have made.
This is the disadvantage with non refundable rates.
We hope to welcome you back very soon, hopefully with more flexible rates.

Best regards

What can you say about this hotel, the room are clean and not too small...
that's it.
It is located in Wattenscheid, which is not the most beautiful or romantic place there is.
The hotel itself is quite cold looking, the breakfast is not super and the rooms were really really hot during summer. Airco apperantly didn't work (or if they had one).
Wifi is really a shame, only 100MB slow internet if you take a normal room.
I had a superior room with free unlimited high-speed internet, but the reception dares to forget to mention that.

For the price you pay in Tryp you can find better things and if you add some to the price stay in a nicer hotel in Bochum.
Unfortunately my company has corporate rates here, so it was not an option...

Also unfortunate that this hotel is part of the Melia group, which is normally quite good.

Dear tmstt,

thank you for choosing our hotel and sharing your experience with us.
Pity that we could not entirely convincing you from our hotel.
Unfortunately we have not enough information to check your reservation details.
We are very sorry, we don't have air condition in our rooms.
We hope we can convince you at your next stay in Bochum.
Have a good time!
