We LOVE Hamburg....it's a pretty, sophisticated and relatively expensive European city and VERY proud to be German....which is wonderful if you're ONLY after German speaking paying passengers on board your Big Yellow Bus!
We DID enjoy the 1.5 hour ride....we didn't get off anywhere...but we would have enjoyed it MUCH more if there was a decent English commentary.
We did have one of their brochures and are intelligent enough to work out which stop we were at,,,,but we didn't get any history of the city....which is a great shame as Hamburg is STEEPED in history!
We paid 15 euros per person....and would have paid more if we had had access to some information in English....although we have used this sort of bus all over the world and never encountered this problem before....a shame!

1st couldn't pay online - after entering card number etc, continue button wouldn't work. People on phone (who were nice) told me I could pay on bus. Took a half hour to find bus stop - neither web site nor phone operators could tell me the cross street. Once found was told bus would be there in 20 minutes. An hour later I called back. Told it would come in a half hour. Was freezing - went to a cafe for twenty minutes. Called back and asked for manager 20 minutes later. Was not offered any compensation, was told I had missed it.

Went on a bus tour of Hamburg on 10 th Sept 2017. The almost two hour tour covered most of Hamburg's central district with all touristy sights. The earphones provided adequate English translation, which met my requirement.

We were not told all the busses have a German with a loud megaphone during the entire tour giving the guide in German. It was impossible to listen to the other languages on the audio selection headphones as it is trying to listen to two voices in your head at the same time. Impossible feat to achieve! We couldn't stand it after the first minute but there was nowhere to hop on or hop off except the town hall. The other oddity was there is a German option on the headphone audio guide so why have a person speak with a megaphone the same dialogue? The girl who sold us our ticket refused to give us a refund and said people prefer a live tour guide, fine but tell people before they get on that they have zero chance of listening to the tour in anything else other than German. Waste of time and money, avoid like the plague!
