First the staff forgot our drinks order. We had to remind them after 25 minutes.

Then they forgot one of our appetisers. We reminded them twice but eventually they brought our main course and said ‘you can have your starter afterward’.

Staff were not in the slightest apologetic. Just a shrug of the shoulders and said ‘it is very busy’.

We ate here on a Sunday night and we were not disappointed. We didn’t have a reservation but it didn’t matter as there were some tables available (I have heard that it gets quite busy on Fridays and Saturdays though so I would recommend booking beforehand). We really enjoyed the chilled atmosphere and the quirky decorations inside. The food was really great - we had the bortsch soup to start (beetroot soup) which was so tasty, and we had the Assorti Datscha as a main. These were fried “Pelmeni” which are dumplings filled with different fillings. All in all we had a really nice meal and we would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Friedrichshain!

This is a phantastic place for brunch. Don't be scared by the queue, it moves quickly. Enormous selection of innovative and highly tasty food, friendly staff, mixed crowd of mostly (but not exclusively) young people, and a cool setting in Friedrichshain.

Ambience is good. Rather casual and easy-going. Food is superb. Blini was awesome ..a kind of Russian pancake with caviar.. Hummus and the whole platter of dip was delicious too. Never miss their dumplings. Spinach and meat dumplings are a must-have in that restaurant. Birch Vodka as well as Russian Monster Cocktail for any occasion. Beer is normal. Service is rather speedy too.
