We stayed here for 2 nights in May and were very pleased with the hotel. Breakfast was awesome, room(s) was clean, windows were so clean you thought there was no glass as you looked out upon a garden and the schloss overhead. They offer city coupons with a discount, suggestions for how to make the best of your visit, bus station a block away, and laundry facilities. We had to go to their partner hotel down the street as the washer was on the blink when we needed it, but that was not a problem for us. We were just thankful for the convenience. If you like a place close to the action, but on the perimeter so that you get a good nights rest, this is worth your consideration. We used the family room and enjoyed the little kitchen and table. If we ever make it back to Fussen, we will stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the garden as it is the quiet side.

We just left the Hotel Fantasia after a 5 night stay there, we stayed in room 222 which is on the top (2nd floor) and which has a large balcony facing the mountains and the elevated Fuessen castle (which looks beautiful - even better when it is lit up at night).

Hotel Fantasia was great. the bed was very comfortable, it had a very nice rainfall shower (or you can use it with a normal showerhead, if that suits you more). The only issue (not for us) may be for people who have trouble climbing stairs as there weren’t any lifts. In that case ask for a ground floor room.

We decided to pay 8 euro extra (per person per night) to have the great breakfast each day, this was well worth it for the convenience of eating in-house and the great selection of bread rolls, bacon, eggs, selection of brewed coffees and hot chocolate, fruits, cake ..... :)

The staff were also fantastic. We got to know the lady who does the breakfasts quite well - “Ines” and she was a pleasure to speak to about things to see and do in and around the area. The garden that comes with the hotel is so peaceful and relaxing.

My father was staying in a hotel in the Old City of Fuessen - only 5 minutes walk away from us. We compared each other’s rooms, prices etc and the Hotel Fantasia was far better value. It is only a 5 minute (easy) walk from the train station and bus terminal - we used the buses a lot, from travelling tom the Tegelberg one day, another day to Neuschwanstein Castle, and, on our last day, we took a bus to Reutte (Austria/Tirol) - that took 30 mins - and then a train from there (so scenic through the alpine villages) to Garmisch-Partenkirchen to take the cable car up to the Zugspitze.

Treat yourself, the Hotel Fantasia and Fussen are really worth an extended stay. We will come back in Winter to try skiing in the area and nearby Austria/Tirol.

If you are looking for a place to stay to accommodate up to 5 people in a room, this hotel has a nice offering. Two separate rooms plus a nice bathroom with a large shower. There is also a nice patio off your room. If you are needing air conditioning, this is not the place for you.

Really good hotel, room are calm and quiet and super clean, with a great view from our room to the beginning of the Alps. The bathroom was super pretty too. Breakfast was excellent and the food was fresh. The city is fantastically situated in a green environment, perfect for quiet vacation.
