Description: Using local seasonal produce is central to the creation of this modern German and international cuisine. Nowadays it is imperative to know what you eat and drink, hence we put the greatest emphasis on the quality of our food, thus most of our meat is purchased from local farmers. Being cooked and delivered in an imaginative yet no-nonsense manner it has made dining at The "Deutsches Haus" an experience in its own right. Our ,,Ancient German" restaurant seats 90 guests in three locations. During the summer meals are also served on our spacious terrace opening onto the "wine-market".

While this hotel was small and built hundreds of years ago, the bedrooms and bathrooms were decent size and very modern. The breakfast included in the stay was excellent and more like an American spread. Best croissants we've ever eaten! Excellent coffee too! We did not eat in the restaurant for dinner. The menu looked great, but not really for kids. It was a great place to stay and walk around the cute town of Dinkelsbuhl. The St George cathedral across the street is one of the most beautiful interiors of a church i have seen...definitely be sure to peek in!

Some highlights but too many negative touches. First the highlights:
The Aperitifs were really good and very well mixed. The tables were set really well. We sat outside. The dessert dishes were really good, although perhaps too much in total on the cheese plate.
Now the minuses. There were simply not enough good staff to keep up. Our wine was not in the chiller at the table which is fine if the waiters have enough time (It wasn't lack of attention), to refill. The Asparagus sauce came only after we reminded them and the kitchen was apparently also struggling. The main fish course, a good portion of angler fish, was quite bland. No salt and pepper on the table and when we asked for pepper only a white pepper mill came...
Suggestions to the management: 1. Seperate the smokers even on the terrace. 2. Wine chillers at the table. 3. Black pepper. 4. Strive to get and/or retain your good staff even in the current employment situation - they are your ambassadors.

We were lucky to find this place for lunch just walking down the street called Weinmarkt. This restaurant attached to the same-name hotel is truely a classy restaurant and great for dinner, too. Surrounded by historical walls, ceiling and floor, the interior is exceptionally classy. The service was very professional. The pork belly (Schweinebauch) was so tender and tasty, and the white asparagus salad was exceptionally fresh and looked pretty. To tell the truth, we never expected this good restaurant in local towns of Germany (i.e. other than big cities like Munchen).

I spent 2 months ( March and April 2018) staying at the Deutsches Haus on a work related trip to the area. The Hotel and staff were incredibly. The food in restaurant was exceptionally wonderful. Excellent rooms with great WiFi. The owner was very accommodating to my long stay and always greeted me when I arrived back to the hotel. It is simply a great place to stay when visiting historic Dinkelsbuhl.

During our Xmas holiday we enjoyed an excellent dinne here. The dining hall s are typicallyfurnished and it is a cozy place to eat . We had not booked in advance but being a small party of 3 we were lucky and found a table. Staff friendly and excellent service. A light starter offered by the owner hot bread (I do not know of home Made but it Was as if ). Typical German cuisine but with a touch of “innovation “.
And When we got the bill we were pleasantly surprised of the amount due.
