Another fountain that is nothing remarkable. It is annoyingly surrounded by iron railings which detract from its supposed beauty. It is of a man with two geese, one under each arm. Worth a look if in the old town but impossible to photograph. Our guide thought it was the oldest fountain in the city.
This was buried between market stalls and obscured by a protective iron railing, but a nice piece of old public art. Hard to photograph, locals said it was often used as a meeting place.
This fountain is located opposite the City Hall. Prior to 1945, this statue was located on the Fruit Market. The fountain shows a bronze figure of a peasant from the Knoblauchsland market gardening area in 16th century clothing and holding a goose under each arm. The animals beaks are the water spouts. It is believed the fountain was created in 1550. A wrought-iron Renaissance railing surrounds the granite basin.
