I rate this hotel with 3 stars for the following reasons:
1. poor AC system. my room was an oven

2. no safe box

3. housekeeping could be improved. we stayed 2 nights: only to change towels and put the duvet correctly is not cleaning a room. And housekeeping forgot to replace towel.

4.carpark: I thought that Holiday Inn Express provided free carpark. 15eur is too far expensive for the hotel-owned car park. I can understand that you charge me for carpark if it is not the hotel one, but in this case, I think is abusive.

staff at reception are nice and breakfast was perfectly organised for covid19. Room was comfy

Thank you as well for your nice comment about our breakfast and our team.
The current situation also presents us with unprecedented challenges and we are very happy that our efforts are appreciated.

We are very sorry that the air conditioning in your room was not working and we forgot to change your towels.
In order to protect our guests and our employees, we currently only clean the rooms on request.
Of course, if necessary, we will exchange towels and empty your rubbish.

It is not a standard of Holiday Inn Express to offer free parking. Despite our central location and the limited parking situation, our parking fees are the below average in Baden-Baden.
The colleagues at the reception are happy to help you with information on alternative options.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in the upcoming future.

Exactly as expected from this hotel chain - friendly staff, clean rooms. We were happy to have a larger bathroom with counter space and an elevator after our previous hotel. Parking garage was convenient. Not a bad walk to the shopping area of Baden-Baden. Mattress tends to be on the firmer side. Continental breakfast was good.

We like our stay in this hotel, location is close to the center and bus station. Hotel is very clean, breakfast was tasty and varied!
Tasty coffee and croissants! The staff was friendly and helpful. We liked the discounts for Caracalla thermal:)

Unfortunately, probably not. And here is why.

1. The wifi connection is awful
2. The claim provision of all day dining but only drinks available. No food at all other than crisps, chocolates and nuts from a vending machine
3. Not a very clean hotel
4. Incorrect local information provided by reception staff who seemed to be trainees.
5. Pre requested pillow type and number of pillows not provided.
6. No glasses or tumblers provided in the shower room.
7. Welcome points bonus not offered.
8. Difficulty redeeming voucher for a complimentary drink and snack as no snack initially provided. Told to purchase a snack from the vending machine until, I pointed out the voucher included a snack. I Felt uncomfortable.
9. Room not made up even after leaving request card on handle of door for 7 hours.

We paid a last minute discounted IHG member rate which is the only redeemable factor. However, this hotel does not meet with the standards we are accustomed with staying in a Holiday Inn Express.

We would not return as it simply does not meet the standards we are accustomed to.

We were driving, so staying in the centre was awkward. This hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the main shops and another 3 to the spas.

They have a large parking garage at reasonable rates. The room was very nice and the breakfast terrific.

About 50 yards away is Mama Lina, an Italian restaurant with great pizzas and excellent pasta. Reserve if you want to eat early.

Really an excellent value choice in a fairly expensive city.

Checking in was a little strange as we saw a price online and was told at reception that it was more expensive. There was a cheaper rate but only for members. Were we members? No. However, we looked at the site online and saw that we could join and get the rate. This was not offered by the rather unhelpful receptionist. In the end we got the rate we wanted but it took effort. All the other receptionists I spoke to were great. Maybe join IHG before booking?

It is true that members of the IHG Rewards Club receive a benefit. Of course you also get these benefits direct in the hotel.
