“A natural wonder”

This was the most amazing experience. Being afraid of heights had me in a bit of a panic but I was able to hang onto the railing and move slowly through and it was well worth the courage it took. Walking 25 metres above the water through a spectacular, narrow canyon on a footbridge was incredible. The bridge is fixed to the rock and is much safer than it looks. Watching the water rushing down below and the erosion of the sheer rock walls were a sight to see.

A boardwalk securely fastened to the cliffs lets you walk easily through the gorge above the rushing river. Very enjoyable!

We visited the gorge when visiting Annecy. Its about 10 miles from Annecy. The road to the gorge is narrow and has to be careful when driving. This gorge was formed by millions of years of erosion. Access is by a walkway built in the gorge. Its easy to walk and on the same level. Don't be confused by the steps you see on the side of the entrance which is to go up the gorge..You can walk the entire length of the gorge and you reach a dead end.Have to walk back to come back. There is a shop at the entrance where you get tickets to visit the gorge and you can buy ice cream etc.Tickets cost about 5.75 euros. There are picnic tables also near the enterance if you want to have a picnic.

Lots of bang for your buck in this one. The walk to the entrance is very pleasant, and then you're immediately thrust into a truly unique and breathtaking geological wonder. Walk at your own pace and take as little or as much time as you like to soak it all in and read the interpretive displays along the way.

This was a great little find. Interesting, not very challenging but worth going early in the day to avoid the crowds.
