Travelled to Villefranche from Nice just to visit the chapel, but as I am interested in Jean Cocteau it was a must see.
Very small but a total one off experience, totally unique.

This ancient chapel belongs to the local fishermen and is I still used on for special feast days. I was deeply moved by the simplicity his line drawings of fishermen and women. Subtle colours creating air and light and joy. Recommended if you love art. No photos allowed but the postcards are beautiful.

Kids are free and 3 euro per adult seems fair to keep this place looking so pristine. Some wonderful chalk pictures of various scenes in the life of St Peter...it's worth lingering a little while as there is something about the eyes of the characters that's worth your attention. Plenty of eateries in the area around and beaches, old town and citadel a stone's throw away. Oh and no cameras!

Fabulous chapel, I seem to remember there is a charge to go in, but if there is it's worth it!lots of paintings and murals by jean Cocteau ..so lovely to see on this little town.
The coffees served at the hotel welcome across the road have cups and saucers with his writings on ..and sometime s a face in the cappuccino foam!
