Stayed here for 3 nights with my wife. Exceptionally clean, rooms impeccable and beds very comfortable. A/C in the room along with TV. Bathroom also very clean. The complex was very quiet. The wifi is appalling but given the location that didn't matter to us too much. Point of note though, the complex shoes provide a continental breakfast each morning but there is no restaurant or bar in the property. The pool is also very nice with towels provided in reception and again it is very clean. If you are coming here though you need a car to get around, price of taxis is very high. It is about 2-3 miles from st Paul de Vence, which is definitely worth a visit, absolutely stunning and nice restaurants. This complex is also close to the Polygone Rivera shopping mall which is also worth a visit, loads of shops and restaurants to browse in and shop. Overall I would highly recommend this complex, staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Hotel les Bastides de St Paul ticked all the boxes for the home base we wanted while exploring the French Riviera: accessible to major highways, reasonably priced, with headache-free parking. The hotel is only 10 minutes away from the Nice airport, and about 20 minutes from old town Nice. It was our first time driving in Europe, and we were pleased by how easily we located the hotel. It's a gorgeous property north of Nice, with a well-maintained pool, and nicely appointed guest rooms, surrounded by villas. Our 'chambre' was spacious and clean, with a large closet to store our belongings, an in-room coffee maker, a roomy bathroom and luxurious bath products. We also enjoyed a balcony that had a view of the property, and the one night that we ran the AC, we found it worked really well. The front desk is staffed from 8 am to 9 pm (unless guests are coming in late), and the staff here are friendly and warm. We did not take the hotel up on its breakfast offering (which I believe came with a €10 charge), but plenty of other guests did. Being a curious bunny, I took a quick scan of the smorg to see if I regretted my decision, and saw cold cuts, yogurt, cereal and fruit, and pastries. I was fine to go down the road to the nearby grocery store and busy boulangeries for a morning bite. Along with quick access to the A8 (the main highway in the region), the hotel is minutes away from the Polygone Riviera, a fantastic modern shopping mall with all the major stores, including Forever 21 and Primark. If I didn't know I was in France, I would have thought I was in southern California, The mall is huge, and gorgeous. I mention it because sometimes it can be overwhelming immersing yourself in a different culture, so the Polygone felt like a bit of the familiar. A must-do is the drive to old town Saint-Paul de Vence. It's just up the hill from the hotel. Only a couple of slight drawbacks at the hotel for us. A couple of the nearby villas have roosters, and if one started crowing at 2 a.m., the other would get going, so it was not as tranquil as we would have liked. Also, our room (chambre 3) was right next to the lobby and outdoor seating area. Not as much of a problem for breakfast, but at night, large groups would sit right outside our room and chain smoke and talk loudly late into the evening. Since it's a communal space, there wasn't much we could do but shut our balcony doors to limit the noise and smell, which limited our enjoyment of our balcony and room. Still, for those with a vehicle this is a fantastic place to stay near Nice. We loved it.

I knew I'd got this wrong when I walked in . We were looking for a nice hotel in St Paul to spend a couple of days in. We had previous stayed in L'Hameau or the la Colombe d'or and had on this occasion brought friends to this special place . Driving up we saw the pool we had seen on the internet and all boded well . I asked if there was a restaurant or a bar and was told no. The receptionist expressed her impatience seeing my disappointment and rudely told me I should have checked the details better on the internet. She was right but didn't have to be rude. I had been mislead by the name perhaps not on purpose but mislead. I thought that a hotel would have a bar and a restaurant and that it would be in St Paul. Anyway the lady then told me I had to pay one night only .
I headed with my friends to a cafe to discuss. We decided to stay one night as they had suggested and emailed them to say that .
We stayed the night only just managing through Uber to get back and the next day we were charged for both nights as per the terms and conditions of the hotel which I had never seen .
We didn't argue. We just left.
It's a motel and it's not in St Paul and the staff are rude and greedy.

Gilles was so welcoming and helpful. Our baggage was delayed and he saw to it that it was in our rooms when it arrived. He even sold us a bottle of his own wine since all stores were closed for a holiday!
Our triple rooms were spacious with very good beds. Excellent base for visits to St. Paul de Vence and Vence, St. Jennet, etc. Gilles was great for restaurant recommendations as well. Free parking! Fridge and coffee in the room completes a very good picture. Only weak point is the wifi in rooms away from the main building.

Beautiful location surrounded by green fields and gardens! The silence is total :) Rooms are clean and quite big equipped with all the necessary (boiler, fridge, etc.)! The only "not positive" thing is that Wi fi is not so powerful... Prices are less lower than other hotels in town!
