The apt was very close to aqua land, Lidl and carrefour and local bakers. It's gated and there is a mix of French residents and holidaymakers. It is a bit of a distance to the beach but as we had a car that wasn't a problem for us. The garden has suffered in the recent heatwave and is very dried out but is a good size for children to play in. There is a BBQ and covered terrace which was nice in the evening. the pool was a good size plus a baby pool and the area clean. I'm glad we chose saint Maxime as in our opinion it was nicer than st Tropez or any other place we visited and had everything we needed. where the apt is, is along a main route so it was a 15min drive into beautiful countryside. Perhaps a bit cramped for 5 adults but children would be ok. Would consider booking again.
This was our second visit to the apartment at Ste Maxime - we love the apartment, the setting, and Ste Maxime itself. The apartment is a downstairs one, with a comfortable bedroom, spacious bathroom, and kitchen/living room. It has all the facilities you could want, including tv, cooker, microwave, washing machine, etc etc. - you really are self sufficient. A bonus is that - since it's on the ground floor - it also has a spacious garden, and barbecue area - ideal for evening meals - as well as a covered terrace that protects you from the midday sun as you lunch. The domain (the site) is beautifully landscaped - set on hillsides among mature trees - and very well maintained. The swimming pool is big and spotless, with great views of the hills. There are excellent shops and supermarkets within walking distance (or a 5 min drive if you have a lot of shopping to get). Ste Maxime itself is delightful - lots of bars, cafés, restaurants and shops - those in the winding back streets are particularly worth seeking out. The ferry from Ste Max across to St Tropez (runs 24 hours in high summer) is a definite must - and St Trop well worth a day visit. Having a car gives you easy access to Ste Max but also many other places nearby - there is good parking outside the apartment. But in summer, a little bus runs past the domain into town about once an hour - very cheap too - and saves finding parking in town. Overall, a wonderful apartment and location to which we would certainly like to return.
