“A lovely place”
Reviewed 23 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed here for a week as a self-catering apartment and highly recommend this flat. All the rooms are of a generous size. They are well and interestingly decorated. Ample places to sit in the bedrooms and the kitchen; some of the upright chairs were a bit wobbly at the time we stayed but the owners are aware of this. Good for couples, groups of friends or a family (though perhaps not so good for toddlers). The beds were good sized and very comfortable. Plenty of room also to store bikes/equipment/pushchairs: the flat is two floors up a moderately steep but wide staircase. The third bedroom, with the mezzanine floor, is low and the ladder requires care, but the bed is comfortable and two of us in our mid-50s found it no problem; there was plenty of room downstairs and this is also a very quiet bedroom. The other two bedsits were well decorated and overlook two of the main routes of the old city – lots to watch and lively in the evenings; very peaceful before 10.30 in the morning when the stalls begin to open. The main bedroom has views of both old and new town and the mountains in the distance. Only one bathroom but lots of hot water; two toilets. Bathroom and kitchen equipment and linen were all supplied and our hosts, Léa and Max, had provided drinks and cooking condiments for our arrival. There is a microwave and double hob; no oven or dishwasher but there was adequate equipment for self-catering and a washing machine. The flat is an excellent location for a city stay, within a few hundred metres of many of the main tourist sites (and a good playground) and within easy walking distance of the tram, bus and train routes. Lots of shops and restaurants in the surrounding area and two bakeries below. It is right on the border of old and new town and both are inviting to walk around. Reliable, free wifi was available, and information leaflets were supplied. Léa and Max were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Public transport is cheap and frequent within and outside the city but car hire is also available from the main station (or airport) if you prefer to access skiing, walking or cycling in the hinteland that way. Underground car parks are expensive but easily accessible. We would love stay here again.
