“Lovely Hidden Gem”

I stayed here with my partner last September for a short get-away from work life and what a great value for money this place was.
Easily accessible by bus from the airport as the stop is only a two minute walk away from the apartment.
Upon arrival, the apartment did come across as feeling a little small. The pictures do make it seem larger. However once we were unpacked and settled, it feels incredibly cosy.
It has all the basic amenities one would need for a short stay in Nice, including a couple of cooking hobs should you want to make dinner yourself.
Being in the heart of the Old Town, the location is perfect and is surrounded by dozens of delicious places to eat. Merely minutes walk from anything you could possibly need. The beach and the Promenade are roughly ten minutes walk away. The area is a lovely place to simply stroll and amble around on an evening. There is also a little supermarket directly opposite the apartment, which is incredibly useful.
Athena (the owner) was very helpful and informative upon booking and Mary (the apartment manager) was also very helpful and welcoming upon our arrival.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend the place to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful city of Nice!

“Interesting location in Vieux Nice.”

Like many apartments in this area,it is very small and there are a lot of steps. Because the apartment is located in a part of town where many locals live, it can be noisy. There is a restaurant kitchen where dishes are washed until late and a fish market which sets up early in the morning. Not a place for light sleepers. The unit itself is well appointed and comfortable. There is a supermarket nearby as well as many reasonable places to eat . It is only a short walk to the daily markets and Promenade.

Management Response
20 Sep 2014
thank you for your feedback and I understand you really enjoyed your holiday. Most apartments in Vieux Nice have a great many steep steps and can often be difficult to climb especially with suitcases, whereas ours are much fewer and easy to negotiate, which is a real bonus. Because our area is more residential, we are far far quieter than most of the old town and things usually settle down at a reasonable hour. Whereas the centre can keep you awake the whole night with party tourists. As we have stayed in many holiday apartments before buying our own, we have first hand knowledge of this!

“Cosy Apartment in a beautiful part of Nice”

We stayed in Athena's other apartment directly opposite this one (this one was booked). It was newly renovated so everything was in tip top shape when we arrived. It is in the perfect location, in the old town but right beside the tram line. Its about 10 mins from the beach with more restaurants than you could count within walking distance.

We met the property manager Pat upon arrival. She was very friendly and we were provided with a few essentials (bread, butter milk..) as well as a bottle of wine. The fish market is below the apartment every morning so the seagulls tent to gather there and make a bit of noise.

There is a bus stop and a tram stop a few meters away and could easily go wherever we wanted. (Monaco, Villefranche-sur-Mer, OGC Nice soccer stadium). There were so many nice restaurants within 5 or 10 mins walk of the apartment as well as some lovely bakeries, pasta shops and ice cream shops (don't leave Nice without getting an ice cream from Fennoccio's)

I would definitely recommend this place to any couple looking to experience Vieux Nice.

“Great Location with easy public transport access in the Old Town”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Pros-
Wonderful communication in regards to booking and info for the area from owner Athena.
Very comfy bed. Thank goodness for evaporative cooler. We certainly needed it. Kitchen stocked with all essential items for cooking. Great location, close to everything 10 minute stroll to beach. 4 mins to public transport. 5min to large supermarket. Mary (agent) met us and gave us a little rundown of the area, but Athena has everything in a book to make short stay very enjoyable
Cons- Probably due for a little bit of an update, but is perfect for a short stay and we will definitely recommend it.
Suggestion- A couple of beach towels would be wonderful, particularly for travellers like ourselves who are moving frequently around Europe with very limited luggage space

Liked best: Easy to locate, met by English speaking liaison person
Liked least: A little bit small with layout, only because the apartment was narrow and long
