My wife, Nicole, and I visit Marie and Jean Michel in May (yes, I took way too long to review). This was the most amazing overall dinner experience we've ever had...ever. We were the first in the door, and Marie immediately greeted us as if we were her kids coming home for the holiday. We chatted at length about her husband's culture and why he cooks duck the way he does (which is the only way, in my opinion, it should be done).
The servings are enormous, and delicious. I don't know how Nicole was able to finish hers, except for the fact that this was our last night in Nice and we knew we may never eat this meal again. Jean Michel had perfectly seasoned everything, and you can tell how much they care, not about running a business, but about making people happy by sharing their love for this food & culture.
Nicole and I both tried talking them into opening a restaurant in the United States, but if they don't, we may need to fly to France at least one more time to enjoy their meal, and their company (and no, I'm not exaggerating).
Thank you both for one of the most memorable meals we've ever enjoyed!
