We travelled there to watch Harlequins play La Rochelle. Lovely little hotel with large rooms - only slight criticism was that the bathroom was a little tired. Close to th harbour and lots of great restaurants and bars

Dear Lyn, Thank you for taking time to share your valuable review. We appreciate it.
We are pleased to know that you and your friends had a wonderful stay at Saint-Jean-d'Acre. It's nice to know that you enjoyed the Rugby match too! We are indeed located in one of the best spots of the town at the feet of the towers facing the old port and next to the famous restaurants of La Rochelle (Coutanceau, the waves André Iseo l'Aunis, ...). Thank you for complimenting the room. We have also taken note of your comment regarding the bathroom. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. This is a very rare issue as we always ensure that the apartment and the bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned before allocating. However, we have passed the information to our housekeeping department. Once again, we appreciate your feedback.
We hope to welcome you back again for another holiday and perhaps for another sports event. All the best!
Nathalie, Directrice Hôtel Saint-Jean d'Acre

Pleasant hotel right on the harbour. Reception staff excellent. Room great. We were told we'd been upgraded but obviously we had no idea if we had or hadn't been. Breakfast terrible and standard 15 Euros (don't bother, is my advice) No in-house restaurant and finding a good one is hit and miss. Avoid harbour-side restaurants. Parking tricky and you'll need a good satnav to find a car park close to the hotel that's not full. We got lucky and found one just to the rear of the pedestrian walkway to the hotel.

Room Tip: Don't bother with breakfast.

Dear Guest, Thank you for posting feedback about your visit to Saint-Jean-d'Acre Hotel, situated directly over the historic port and near to plenty of restaurants.
We welcome your kind mention for our Reception team, and we are pleased that you were satisfied with your room upgrade.

We are sorry to see that our variety of hot and cold foods at breakfast, including homemade breads, cold meats, yogurts, cheeses and gluten-free soja, as examples, was not to your liking. We are always open to suggestions on your next visit. Please note that when booking, guests have the option of reserving either a "room only" or a special B&B option with a 10% discount in breakfast price depending on the offer. Compared to our competition this price is acceptable for a 3* hotel in La Rochelle.

Of course, our informative Reception team would have been only too happy to suggest some great restaurants and places to eat, upon request.

Please be aware that parking is located 70 meters from the entrance of the hotel, "Place de la Chaîne." The capacity is 420 seats, which is usually sufficient at this time of year. In order to facilitate your arrival, you can, nevertheless, leave your luggage in front of the hotel, where there is a parking "luggage drop."

Please be mindful that some car GPS are unfortunately not up to date, however, our Rochelle traffic plan is, and you can find this on our Waze app, available for free on all smartphones. Saint Jean d'Acre hotel as well as Saint Jean d'Acre parking and the old port west car park are well indicated.
I look forward to welcoming you back for your next visit. Warm regards,
Nathalie, Directrice Hôtel Saint-Jean d'Acre

Lovely location by harbour. Car parking "close to" but a little difficult to find on fist visit (newish to us pedestrian system) Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Even our two westies (dogs) were made most welcome. We had room with harbour view : only downside was 5 am Dustbin collection which h woke us up big style and went on for some time (but not fault of hotel) Room clean but on the small side. We stopped in transit to Cherbourg ferry. We will definitely return. No restaurant but lots within feet of hotel. Nice not to be mithered on arrival as to whether we required dinner. Good experience overall.

First impressions are most important ,and the front of house staff were less than friendly ! Next was the price which was too expensive for the package on offer. The room did have a sea view but was cramped and the air con didn't work . The bath had been painted and the paint had lifted so was impossible to use . The breakfast was good and the morning staff improved. Couldn't recommend it as I thought it was twice the price it should have been.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel !

Dear Fidgett, Thank you for review of the stay among us.
It saddens us to read your impression about the staff. At Saint-Jean-d'Acre hotel, the customer is at the center of our concerns and it is not only a hackneyed phrase. It is the priority objective of all our teams to make the stay of the leisure or business customer a successful one. We're sorry to read that your room was not really to your liking. We do offer wider rooms whose size range from 14m²70 for the smallest to 52m² for the suite. Don't hesitate to check our website on your next visit and also to call us if you encounter any problems with the air conditioning system. We take note of your remark about the bathroom and appreciate your mention of the tasty breakfast.
We hope we will be able to welcome you back in the future.
Best regards,
Nathalie, Directrice Hôtel Saint-Jean d'Acre
