We stayed at this Hotel around 15 years ago, at the time the beds were like rock but as La Rochelle was so busy when we arrived, we were lucky to get a room here - through the price was 184 Euros for the one night. Our room on the top floor faced the marina - it was half the size it was many years ago, as it seems they have installed pod bathrooms and spilt the old rooms into two. It was like walking into a small wardrobe, and the wardrobe doors did not even close correctly.

The Pod Bathrooms are shocking, small, taps did not work without forcing them on the bath as they had ceased up with lime build up. This is supposed to be a four star hotel - I would at best rate it as a low three star.

As for sleep quality - well there was noise till very late from outside, even though the windows were shut tight. Did we sleep well - No. Would we return to this Hotel ? No
Would we recommend this hotel? No. Was the Room value for Money? No

The only good thing I have to say about it was the young male member of staff on the reception desk was friendly when we checked in and out but to busy to be interested in any complaint.

Room Tip: Do not stay on the top floor or the front

Lovely hotel. Rooms very practical, although a little tight. Clean and friendly. Two fantastic meals in the restaurant, overlooking the harbour. Great breakfast. Free parking was a great help in the centre of La Rochelle.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location is great and free parking is a bonus. The staff were friendly. The room was quite small and compact but clean and tidy. We ordered room service one night which is quite expensive and not worth the money. Overall good stay but unsure if it’s worth the money?

Room had a couple of small problems, when we arrived. That were sorted quickly by the staff,(broken door hinge, safe not working). Big car park, but with 120 rooms it gets full! Sometimes I felt I was in a "business" hotel. Panoramic resturaunt has great views, for one, but the partner has his/her back to it. Not a sharing experience. The seabass starter is uncooked fish. Not what I was expecting (must try harder to read the menu fully!) . Overall very clean and smart hotel, in a good location. But the Novotel La Rochelle centre next to the park seems slightly better and more personal, (and has larger rooms).

Visited in August, at height of season. There are usually problems parking in the Old Port, and it's pricy, so free parking at this site is a real bonus.
There's a restaurant here, but we thought it was a bit pricey, and anyway, there's lots of alternatives nearby. Hotels like this should be more competitive.
Room was relatively small, but adequate. I thought I was entering the wardrobe, but it was the (well-equipped) bathroom instead.
Hotel seems to be a favourite for coach tour parties.
Very good location for visiting the old town though, so it has my recommendation for that reason alone.

Room Tip: Pretty rooms overlooking the port, but a bit more expensive.
