“An enchanting place.”
Reviewed 3 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The Manoir du Bocage is a little piece of Heaven. Beautifully restored, in perfect taste, it provided our family with a wonderful and memorable holiday experience. Aged from 67 to 2 years old, the manor had something for everyone in our family. I cannot think of anything better than sitting in the sunshine by the lake, embracing the silence, broken only by the occasional fish emerging for a quick snack, the surface of the water a carpet of water lilies. Magnificent trees surround the house at a short distance, the grounds carefully landscaped and maintained, and edged with wildness areas, creating a satisfying balance between nature and human influence.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this gorgeous home to anyone seeking peace and tranquillity during their holiday. The D-Day beaches, the village of Fervaques and the towns of Lisieux, Bayeux and Honfleur, among other locations, are within easy reach for supplies and visits, and, of course, the wonderful countryside of Normandy is all around to enjoy. Madame Chaumont, the housekeeper, is good-humoured, very friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Worth more than 5 stars!

“Gorgeous Traditional Manor House”
Reviewed 17 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

I've stayed at Manoir du Bocage twice and have had a very enjoyable stay on both occasions.

The home is peaceful and secluded, has been faithfully restored by its owners and it is wonderfully decorated. Although the restoration has been sensitive to the home's history, the home also has some wonderful modern luxuries, including an enormous spa bath! The house is enormous and would be perfect for a large family holiday.

There is plenty to enjoy in the area - I would recommend visiting as many of the nearby towns as possible, including Orbec, Deauville and Honfleur (particularly lovely for lunch). Further afield you can also visit the Bayeux and the beaches of Normandy. In my experience just taking a drive around the gorgeous Normandy countryside is the best thing to do.
The house is a 15 minute drive from Lisieux. In the past I have travelled from London to Lisieux via Paris by train and hired a car from Avis at the station in Lisieux (although they are not open on a Saturday afternoon Philippe arranged for Avis to leave the keys with the station staff). There is a small village called St Cyr de Ronceray a short drive from the house which has a very handy shop which sells all the essentials.

All in all a lovely choice for a quiet country holiday.

Saint Cyr du Ronceray shops offers all what you need and are great because they only 1km from us and you can have a pleasant by walking to them . Fervaques shops also offer all what you need even a pharmacy , but you need a car to go there .
TAKE CARE with french trading hours !!! french shops are close for lunch and " SIESTE TIME " , WHICH MEANS no shopping possible betwwen 1pm to 3pm . On mondays most of shops are close in France !
