Hotel needs a facelift, shabby rooms, stained bedspreads, taped up shower. No tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Communal spaces pleasant, super restaurant. Pool water clean and well maintained- I had a lovely swim. However, the pool area was also very shabby. Location was excellent for memorial but we'll out of the centre.

Room tip: Shabby rooms need updating. Need to povide tea and coffee making facilities in room. Fix shower. Provide clean bedspreads or duvets.

We arrived to hotel early in the afternoon and put our luggage into our room. After a couple of hours sight seeing in Caen we went back to the hotel and found moths flying around in our room.

Have you tried to have our clothes ruined by moths? We have tried it - and that is no fun, to say the least. We went to the reception to ask for help.

Now the condition of the hotel was not the best. It is shabby and not very clean. The best conditions for moths to thrive and become more. So we decided to leave and asked young girl in the reception to get our money back, as we had not stayed in the hotel.

The young girl in reception called to ask her manager - and she was told, that it was not possible for us to get our money back, as we had booked and paid for the hotel on-line via hotels.com.

What did we learn from the experience? Make sure that the hotel you are staying on is clean. Don't expect to get your money back if you've booked on-line and is not satisfied - because the hotel may not even care.

And remember to have room in your freezer for all your clothes when you get home and by accident stay at a hotel with moths - and hope that your wardrobe is not ruined.

Room tip: Remember to ask if they have done anything to combat the moths in the hotel.

I have stayed at many hotels all over the world. This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had.

When we arrived, there were several moths in the room. When we claimed about that we were just told they couldn’t do anything about the animals, and that we couldn’t get our money back even though there was a high risk that the moths might spoil all our clothes.

We had to moove to another hotel and pay for both hotels ourselves.

In addition to this the rooms are very smal, the rooms are not clean, there is no air condition, the service is awful, and the hotel is in a total decline.

Good hotel to base yourself for the Normandy coast. Large car park free of charge. Good food ...breakfast starts at 6.30am. Exceptional value for evening meal(fixed price). Good selection of wine and beer.

Room tip: Beds are low compared to other hotels. I would sack the plumber....he fixed the shower screen the wrong end of the bath.
