We have been here twice before, this time there were students staying and they played their music loudly until 11.30pm, at least. This spoilt our stay here. We had a Queen-sized bed and a lovely large shower and room though. When we have stayed here before, it has been quiet and not full. At breakfast the croissants were not replenished for a long time and that made breakfast less enjoyable, as everyone was waiting for the croissants to be replenished. We asked about catching a bus back to Quistreham to the Ferry Terminal and were told by the Manager to buy a ticket from the Tabac nearby and then catch a bus to the train station. When I bought a ticket, I was told the same thing, in French. Actually you can still catch a bus from the bus stop opposite where you get off when you arrive in the centre of town. This was very frustrating, as the journey to the train station, then trying to find the right bus, etc, was unnecessary stress.

This is a small hotel that is in desperate need of updating. The room was small as was the bathroom. There is nobody on the reception desk after 9 pm but that does not really matter as the entire town folds up for the night about that time. Not much better than a hostel.

Stayed here for 6 nights.
Had no real complaints as this hotel is exactly what their description says.
But beware like the description says there is no lift!! 3 floors of winding stairs!!
Other than that, the location was fantastic, breakfast was fair at 8€ and the owners were very helpful and pleasant.

Lovely family husband / wife run hotel, very quaint.
Rooms on 3 floors, small with no elevator but spotless. Both staff were helpful in assisting with our suitcases up the narrow stairs.
Beware as well there is no place to park, as is normal in the old Breton and Normandy towns You can take your car into the very narrow street to drop off luggage but need to find a carpark or street parking for the rest of your stay.
The staff were very helpful assisting us with information where to get the bus to the Peace Museum.( Fabulous) and restaurants. .
All in all would recommend this lovely little hotel for a few nights.

Room tip: had a room on the first floor facing the interior.

Hotel Francois d'O is very charming. Located on an extremely narrow street in the old town. Was very convenient to the DDay tour I planned to take. About a 15 e taxi ride from the train through the more modern part of town. My room was small and faced the street. If choosing this hotel bring earplugs because if you are assigned a room on the street side you could be annoyed by noise coming from the restaurant at the end of the street, which acts as an echo chamber. The restaurant noise stopped around 1130 pm. Just an FYI if you are planning an early am activity the next day. Otherwise it was very clean and the owners/ innkeepers were friendly and welcoming.
