We chose the €30 menu which included a glass of kir and some fried bread with ham and sweet onions as an 'amuse bouche'. Crayfish salad and two eggs 'en cocotte' with foie gras and Madeira sauce for starters. Really good rare sirloin and magret de canard both with chips and salad for mains. Then a plate each of tarte Tatin, a squidgey chocolate thing and a slice of good iced parfait for pud. All excellent and served by a really friendly waiter who went along with our expressed preference to try our French on him. We got on so well he treated us to a glass of Poire William each with our coffees and we promised to go back again tomorrow. Total bill including a nice bottle of Gaillac rouge was €70. Amazing value!

Although the restaurant was pretty busy they only had two waiting staff and you don't have to be a genius to work out that that will equate to slow service. As we are in full holiday mode however we were prepared to wait a bit longer than usual, but on other nights I might have simply walked away.

We went for simple Moules frites and they were top class. The portions were good with very few empty or closed shells and the accompanying chips were excellent. I also thought that the price was very reasonable.

If I was rating purely re the quality of the food I would give it a four, but the slow service drops that down a notch.
