We stayed for a month and enjoyed our time in the very heart of this ancient town. The apartment is on the first floor, north facing in the square, above restaurants. The accommodation really comprises 3 rooms. A large living room with long sofa, small screen tv, breakfast bar with 4 stools and a galley style kitchen with sink, electric hob, electric oven and small fridge. Floors are all bare paments. The bathroom is off the central Hall and comprises shower cubicle and sink. There is a separate wc with washing machine. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, wardrobe, window to rear and door onto very small terrace. Ideal for hanging out washing as its south facing. The other bedroom has double bed and wardrobe. The property appears to have been recently put onto the rental market - I say that for a few reasons. There are few homely or cute features in the property. Its rather austere. There is a washing machine but no iron or ironing board. The TV is tiny and shows local French channels which is fine if you are french speaking, but free satellite channels are a must these days. The breakfast bar is slightly too high for comfortable eating. The wifi is OK if you are just after email, but any streaming is hampered by the poor download quality. Again this needs to be upgraded. I do think a small table and chairs would be good. These are all minor things, but would make any stay far more enjoyable. Be prepared that such a great central location comes with a few drawbacks. You are right above a restaurant and next to 4 others and they start taking the tables out at 7am. The buzz of life continues until 11pm most days. The glass bottle collection is not a highlight and that tends to be at 630am twice a week. And on a Thursday at 4am, the restaurant downstairs has a delivery by pallet of foodstuffs.....and steel wheeled fork lift just loves the uneven stone pavement. We got used to this clamour, but if you are a light sleeper be prepared for early starts! Finally, the lighting in the property needs upgrading as its terribly dark. Energy saving lights are eco friendly but generally hopeless in a north facing room. They need to bounce halagen lights off walls and ceiling in order to allow you to read a book. Please dont take this review as 100 percent negative. Its not. We really enjoyed our stay, but just a few tweeks need to be done to make this propert a whole lot better.
