It took 2 hours and a trip to the office de tourism before we finally gained access as TripAdvisor posted the wrong contact phone number. The surroundings were a surprise to us as the tiny narrow street did not seem to be where we would expect a holiday apartment to be. The local residents turned out to be respectable but the houses needed some TLC. Jacques was very welcoming and genuine but the apartment was basic, the terrace being the main redeeming feature whilst being 'au naturelle' ie untidy. Fortunately the town centre is only a short walk and has all the tourist needs within a compact area. The palace of the kings of Majorca is particularly interesting. The beaches at Sainte Marie la Mer are excellent and the place is clean and well cared-for, not tacky. It's about 15km away; a good place to stay if sun sea and sand is for you.
